I say - Go where your Brethren ended their journey, because that is where you find the ties that bind you to your culture. An affinity with your distant clan already exists in the d.n.a. They will know it by your name or the location origin of your UK ancestors. It won't matter if you go offshore, or relocate locally if you go to where your distant (affiliated) people went before you. If your from the UK you won't need to learn another language either.
