she couldn't be hooked up to the grid and pay nothing.  they would still rip her a new butthole with government fees and service charges.  then they would tax her on top of those fees, as if the fees themselves weren't taxes. lol

The report WAS very one sided.  Skeptical.  Not surprising for Fox News, though.  Surprised they didn't blame Obama for the whole thing.

What ... not even a hearing before the condemnation / eviction order? That's putting a little too much power in the hands of a single building inspector. (Or did the report skip that part?)

Here in Ontario Canada, our Water Bill also includes the sewer charges, and it appears this lady is using the toilet, even though she's flushing with rain water, charges are due for the use of sewers, if your billing is the same as here.      (when we water our gardens and lawns, we pay sewer charges based on the water used even though its not going down the drains.)

But running a propane camp stove indoors is just stupid.

They regularly use propane stoves for cooking in mediterranean area because it is cheaper. Propane has an odor added so it can be smelled.

If she burns down her home, she relies on firefighters, the "grid" again, to save her ass and insure she doesn't light the neighborhood on fire. It's not just her. I'd really like to hear the other side of the story.

it absolutely would NOT be difficult to hook a 12v pump up to existing water lines.  i've done it.  not hard.  and propane stoves DO leak....regularly.  every connection on a camp stove loosens regularly.  the gaskets inside of these connections get worn out easily and need replaced more often than a stationary stove.  i have used plenty of camp stoves and have to inspect them EVERY time i hook one up so i don't burn my arm hairs and eyebrows off.  that's speaking from experience.  yes, propane has a smell.  but who turns on the propane then lets it run for a minute or two before lighting it so they can sniff around?  that sounds more dangerous than just lighting it right away and hoping it's not leaking.  there aren't a lot of connections in one of those stoves.  it's not difficult to make sure the whole thing is all tightened up before you use it.  but most people don't.  case in point....you.  if it lights and doesn't blow up, use it?  that's ignorant.  how about making sure it's not going to blow up BEFORE you light it?  either way, we're moving away from the point, which we all agree with.....they should just leave her the hell alone.  if she is unsafe, oh well....if she blows herself up, oh well.  if she's on social security, you'd think they would be excited that she is doing things slightly less safe so they don't have to pay her social security if she blows herself up.  i thought our government was all about population control???  guess maybe she still pays taxes or something.  maybe she's a closet millionaire.
