Disclaimer: I do not have a 'dog' in this race directly. As inhabitant of Canada I know that what happens to you in the US of A ultimately affects us, as we are major trading partners. So I have a ghost in the race ... I can't participate directly in your choices ... but will try to do so indirectly for our sake as well as yours.

So ... here is my take on things from someone with some distance who is looking at the trees, not the forest.

1) Donald Trump's motivation to run for President:

He doesn't need the money. Nor does he need the connections to make money.

In fact, Donald Trump will lose money serving as POTUS ... is that selfish?

"The Donald", as he is affectionately known, is STAKING HIS REPUTATION in this presidential bid. He is is making assertive and clear promises to  "Make America Great Again".

Some are suggesting he is intentionally playing a game to give the election to Hillary ... by splitting the vote.

Here's a question about that ... If Donald Trump were "playing a game" to hand off an election to Hillary ... could he ever have trust again to pursue is beloved real estate objectives?
No. He would be undermining his future success and credibility in doing so!

And what smart business guy would do that?

2) Donald Trump's history to run for President:

"The Donald" made his money, which he is rightfully proud of, based on the overall prosperity of America, and Americans. He could not have done it otherwise if America and her people were poor and destitute.

Clearly, therefore, Donald Trump has a vested interest in the overall success of the United States economy, and therefore the people as well ...they who are the engine of productivity.

Some might think that is a selfish thing ... I think it's 'sharing' thing ... he wins and you win ... that's called 'quid pro quo'.

3) Donald Trump's history on Points of Importance:

Tell me how Donald Trump's speech points differ from what he said in 1988"?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-oprah-show_55b691b...

I wonder how this 28 year old intervew conflicts with the primary message Donald Trump is putting out today ... in the GOP debate as well as in his interviews ... it doesn't.

One word come to mind ... 'consistency'. Another that comes to mind is 'visionary.' No conflict therefore.

He saw this 'train wreck' coming decades ago ...

Is it a stretch, therefore, to wonder what he meant, when talking about PC language, when  he posited that AMERICA does not have time anymore for PC obfuscation of the truth and facts?

Donald Trump's "BRASHNESS" is the slap that people need to wake up and see what is really going on under their gullible noses.

4) Donald Trump's political contributions:

The "game" was invented long before Donald was born. His own Father warned him about moving into Manhattan early on ... because Manhattan was 'owned' by others. But still he did so, and overcame the formidable challenges along the way.

He played by the rules that others set, not him, and prevailed ... no one can deny that. If he made political contributions, which he did and is not shy about saying so, he got the deal done. The narrow minded constrain that to the notion that he profited from that alone ... like a "shyster." What his critics fail to include in their narratives is that in doing so, Donald Trump created thousands of jobs.

'Career politicians' are always begging for contributions and support for the sake of jobs ... few could ever prove they delivered on that. Donald Trump, however, can prove it ... buildings take people (jobs) to build and people (staff) to run and maintain them in the long run.

So Donald Trump's 'political contributions' to whatever politician (of whatever political stripe) expedited the creation of real jobs and real employment ... and if he made money, he deserved to do so.

5) Donald Trump and 'Political Correctness:

I applaud Donald Trump's steadfast non-PC stance ... Political correctness amounts to a 'psychological cancer' that eats away at truth. The ancient Chinese were very wise people (before communism infected their society) ... and the most poignant expression I know of from their history is this: "The essence of wisdom is to call a thing by it's correct name."

Speaking the truth, as you know and understand it, is never a crime ... it's the honesty you believe and without the capacity to use accurate words there is no capacity for debate about ideas. And debate is always preferable to thuggish oppression.

Conclusion

I have been on this planet almost 60 years. I have studied history and I study current events ... I'm not a light-weight intellect at 140 or so. I love my family ... those immediately connected and also those I am humanly connected to. I can clearly see that what has been is not working and and actually never did ... it's been a nice illusion only.

We are at a breaking point ... as a global society ... the old paradigms that benefited the few have failed because they were the selfish dreams of the few.

I would like to think that Donald Trump has opened the eyes of people, here - there - everywhere, to the possibilities that exist for everyone if we break ranks with the old paradigms of being handed down dictates from from the political elites, and get busy doing for ourselves instead of waiting for handouts.

Great Post

What I like about Donald Trump, no one owns him, unlike all the other candidates. They are all owned by the Good Old Boys that fund these so-called elections. This is the first time in many, many years we have had a real choise for President. No more Clintons, Bushes or candidates owned by the Good Old Boys.

Hoo rah to that
