Food Storage 101

Ask yourself this question- In an emegency do you want to stand in a soup line?

Why Have Food Storage:
This has been the subject of my studies for about 20 or more years now, and just like yesterday it still fascinates me to no end.

I have a lovely family of 4 children all grown now, but when they were young I started out by trying to find ways to feed and care for them on a strict budget, because I had a frugal husband at the time.

However in time, what I learned is probably the most important information a person could have in a time of crisis. With my knowledge and the help of some very wise individuals who helped me understand the importance of storing, and completing a food storage plan, I got into storing a years supply of food for my family for security.

Throughout my years of reading and studying about different storeable foods I can help you plan the best food storage program for the best prices.

I have read many books on the subject, attended many a lectures all pertaining to food storage. I have come to learn exactly what's needed to know in order to begin. I have taught many classes on the subject and organized Family Preparedness fairs that were a huge success!

What I have found in most cases is that most people really do understand the importance of storing food, but they just don't know where to begin and/or are overwhelmed with the idea of where to start . There are some very hard and fast rules in storing foods, some of this information will save you a lot of time and money if followed correctly.

I will be breaking this down as simply as I can, teaching you ways to store food for you and your loved ones, as cost effective as possible.

I must stress to anyone interested in embarking on such a task to be open minded about this and not think it's just for them crazy Mormons, Mountain people or Militia's. Storing food is not paranoid, it's just smart!

The best way to think about it is like you do with insurance.

Do you have insurance?
So you pay your insurance, be it Home, Auto, or Health, you pay, yearly/weekly/bi weekly right? It's a high priority for the "JUST IN CASE scenario." But at the end of the year after paying you didn't die, get injured or have auto accident, but in the case something did happen to you, it was there for you right and I'm sure you were so glad you were covered weren't you?

Well food storage should be thought of in that same manner. It will be there for you when you need it and if you don't need it, unlike your insurance policy you can eat it all up and replace it when needed and if you do need it, then you and your loved one's don't starve to death in an emergency situation or disaster!

Nothing lost in my opinion, as you would have with a paid insurance policy. Food storage is security just like that insurance policy, it gives you peace of mind if the "JUST IN CASE!"

Most of us have been very fortunate with abundance, most of us have not had to look into our children's eyes and tell them "sorry, but there just isn't any food to eat!" Sorry would hardly be appropriate, I'm sure you would ever want to utter those words.

In the wake of 911 and the current economic crisis our wealthy nation is all of the sudden going through, we should use history to teach and educate us on reality. Reality is we do not know for certain that we will always have food, we will always have an abundance and we can always feed our family. People all over are losing job's and the future is uncertain to many of us, but it doesn't have to be now while we still have plenty.

During the great depression, food was money, food was a matter of life and death because there were no jobs, there was no money. Farmers can not grow their massive crops, infrastructure can come to a screeching halt in days and then what?

Storing food is economical sound and smart as a way to INSURE you and your families are taking care of no matter how dire the situation or current events are. And the most beautiful thing about it is, if you store foods you normally eat, and nothing does happens to upset your way of life, then you have lost nothing at all! Instead you probably saved yourself a ton of money in the long run, because in my 52 years of life, I have never seen any food prices go down, instead they have continually grown each and ever year.

In conclusion I can see nothing at fault in storing food it is simply the smartest and most sound investment you will ever make for you and your loved one's.

Gary and Jeff - and to sum it up in a word or two it's called Dysfunctional Competition. The Competitive Spirit (opposed to a Creative spirit) thrives on the illsusion of Lack precipatating Fear of the threat of more Lack and or Loss. Insurance, and Money are all about, Lack and Fear of Loss and or Threat. Scripture by James says, Money is the root of all kinds of Evil; I see that Money, actually equates Competition and therfore Competition is the cause of all kinds of Evil.

Yes, madness it is. From car insurance, homeowners insurance and health insurance to mortgages, credit cards and bank accounts, it's all a great big fraud on us and honestly, ask anyone, they all believe this is the way it's supposed to be. It's really kinda frightening Gary, if you really think it over. They believe.

... and in total, what I'm saying is, They're not done yet... the paradigm shift is not completed. They're insatiable... their appetite for power and control is insatiable, and that will be the cause of a severe domino effect. Now, on the other hand how we, as individuals react or respond will be the determining factor in each of our lives. We have the option to respond with Love and Creativity or react with Chaos and Violence - either way we still have to prepare accordingly, and that comes down to knowing ourselves. Now, of course all that I'm sating is Philosophy and Philosophical - but time will tell, and so will the current events. A great philosopher once said "through the the door of today, walks tomorrow." I believe that is one of many immutable Laws set into place by our creator.
Of course, I could be wrong; crazy as a goose in a hail storm; and not allowed to play on my computer without adult supervision... ((((LOL))))

True Gary, the whole paradigm is false. We're told that an instilled work ethic is healthy, required even and the truth is that the work ethic is simply the means to power the machine. We weren't made to work 40-50 hours a week with two days off and a vacation once a year or so but we do it because we are 'supposed' to have a work ethic. The consumption of everything, from our computers we're using right now to our cars and homes and everything in them is all a part of a false paradigm of consumption. We work so the elite don't have to.

Gary and Jeff - I understand, but I think their greed is going to cause a squeeze that will precipitate a reaction, and then the reactionary will spill over even on to those who don't want to engage. The reason I say that is because Yahweh will not allow them to have total control at any level for very long.

If nothing else, the hand of Yahweh will tip it just at the time they think they have all the control they need to sustain their eutopia forever.

I agree Gary

...and Jeff don'tget me wrong, I respect you very much and like you very well as an internet friend. We're just having a discussion and hopefully we can balance the arguments within ourselves, through that discussion; or at least that's what I hope to walk away with as I also hope well for you.

Your concept of total control and theirs are quite different. They already have total control.

They transferred trillions to the banks, invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, caused millions to be unemployed and millions more to lose their homes. That is total control. They control US elections through the two-party system and simply don't need or want any more control than they already have because it's already total.

Jeff- all that you say is true... but they still don't have total absolute control. People still Home School their Children; have At Home Birthing; posses Firearms and carry concealed and open... along with many other issues that oppose the NWO. So what will happen when the NWO gang goes for total and absolute control? They can surround us all they want but so long as we have guns, they have a problem in getting total and absolute control. Nobody is going to just handover their arms as they did in England and Australia, I know I'm not. If they come rolling in, it will be a bad day, society will fall into Chaos and Mayhem; some people will take the Bio-metric RFID, others won't and problems will escalate...
