Peyote buttons - I have been to many a NAC Meeting (Native American Church) and had my share. Talk about a strange trip...

That aside - I don't like the pistol grip because it just cranks my wrist to hard...so no the 870 does not have one. It is a versatile gun in that it is accurate and you can dove hunt with although I prefer my ancient LC Smith for dove. I did see a 870 20 gauge in a buddies pawn shop the other day. That would be nice to have around for the nephew.
