Puzzled by the thought the Dark Ages ended much earlier than what I understood, I did a Wikipedia search.
The original term was coined by Petrach in the 1330s.
His concept was that the Dark Ages lasted 900 years. Perhaps that was what I recalled.

Apparently modern scholars never use the term any more. Rather, they refer to the first 300-900 years as the Early Middle Ages. Indeed many of the older studies that looked at the Dark Ages believed the time of the Vikings was a dark time, and really an extension of the earlier period.

There have been some recent scholarship that suggests the Dark Ages weren't really dark at all.
Even though philosophical enlightenment was identified as beginning with Anselm and his resurrection of Platonist thought. The thought was with the fall of the Roman empire, those lofty philosophical ideas were submerged beneath superstition and despair. And they suggest it was Anselm who brought them back to life.

In the case of Petrarch, in the 1330s, he thought himself still living in the dark ages.

I have more free time then most people so I try to listen to everyone. G. Edward Griffin is a favorite and he's been spewing the same rhetoric for many years to no avail until now. Like Gary said to me, he's probably wondering why no one listened until very recently.

My personal opinion, and it's shared by others, is that we won't stop global government. My concern is what shape it will take here in the US. I'm thinking we'll slip into a third world country since our economic base isn't needed any longer. That seems to be occurring now. I suspect that by 2020 we'll see a substantial depletion in global copper and even refrigerators and stoves may be beyond the affordability of many Americans. Afghanistan has the worlds 2nd or 3rd largest untapped copper reserves, one of the many reasons we're there, but even tapping into that we'll still see copper rise in price eventually. I just don't know when. A lot happening on the home front. Too much to navigate all of it.

Have to agree Jeff, David Icke did certainly spawn a weird following. How about listening to Allan Watt then, he debunks the craziest part and focuses on the historical agenda tied to today's situation.

Doug, I spent 3 years living in Mexico and was an illegal alien the entire time. I owned a real estate brokerage and sold coastal property. The local hospital treated me several times and would never take a penny in payment. Put's a new spin on illegals in America. It's idyllic.

I'm not certain we'll get a consensus on the enemy any time soon. There are a great many people consumed with Lucifer worshiping shape shifting lizard people and until we can wean them from these unfounded conspiracies the enemy eludes most of us, not all, but many of us.
