Here's some song lyrics I wrote for one of my bands songs. This song is about a very sensitive subject, depression. I believe by opening up about the darkness and pain caused by depression is the key with coping with it. This is therapeutic for me and I hope that if anbody out there is suffering inside because of depression, this song may strike a chord with you. You are not alone.

Silly Putty

The cold of November

Comes knocking once again

I feel the chill cut through me

The knife it’s freezing

Another winters dawning

The sun lays down her head

In the dark my heart is sinking

The sky is painted red

My soul like silly putty

Being stretched out and back again

The blues coming and going

Like an old, familiar friend

I’m fighting with my old demons

Struggling, to close the door

The past sometimes is haunting

Rattling bones, under the floor

Mad stupor revolving

I’m coping like before

There’s a message in the bottle

Telling me head for the door

My soul like silly putty

Being stretched out and back again

The blues coming and going

Like an old, familiar friend

The winds of November

Come howling, once again

Inside, I am trembling

Like a leaf in the wind

Gotta pick myself back up

Shake off anxiety

 The fear is all consuming

Dancing with insanity

My soul like silly putty

Being stretched out and back again

The blues coming and going

Like an old, familiar friend

Powerful lyrics!
i always liked the image that could be transferred from comic books or the comic pages of the newspaper and then distort the image.
Very Nice Work Tara, I'm sure a lot of people can relate to those lyrics - - - Well Done!
Thanks guys, it means a lot! It's a hard subject to talk or write about because of shame and embarrassment, but I think that it's a good thing to bring out into the open to heal oneself and others who may have experienced or have dealt with depression in the past or present.
