O rly??? Miss America pageant sees large decline in ratings after dropping swimsuit competition.TOTAL FAILURE
The Miss America ceremony subtracted the swimsuit competition for the first time in its 98-year history, and subtracted one million television viewers, too.
The Nielsen company said 4.34 million people watched the annual ceremony on ABC Sunday, down 19 percent from the 5.35 million viewers last year. Declining viewership has been a consistent trend for the pageant over the past few years.
With Miss America now under the leadership of former Fox News personality Gretchen Carlson, the swimsuits were left behind. Instead, they were replaced by onstage interviews where contestants talked about President Trump, the NFL player protests and other topics.

Folks who tune into watch a beauty pageant don't need to listen to a bunch of empty headed twits and their view of the President, the NFL, etc. We get enough of that with just the regular news!!!! Time to put this pageant away and grow up.

Gretchen Carlson is putting the final nail in the Miss America Pageant coffin. Like most parasites she grew up flourishing in its succor, used it to fund her education, took advantage of its notoriety to obtain very gainful employment and is now causing its death as well as officiating at its funeral. RIP Miss America. Whatever good you ever did has been eliminated by the recipients of its benefits. Only stupid parasites kill the host. Oh, and that 20% reduction did not include those who tuned in in error believing the swimsuit segment was still a part of the pageant. I guess now that Gretchen's older she can't stand to see pretty ladies in swimsuit attire. And... it's gone!
