Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel’s schedule appears to be on the light side since he dropped out of the U.S. Senate race at the beginning of the year.
The schedule submitted to The Dispatch by his office shows a number of 30-minute sessions each week, almost exclusively with senior staffers Joe Aquilino and Kevin Benacci. Another 17 meetings came in blocks ranging from 45 minutes to four-and-a-half hours. All told, the sessions add up to 176 hours, or a little more than six hours a week.
Mandel has been silent on Facebook and Twitter. He appears to have made only two public appearances, at Board of Deposit meetings in March and June.
In addition, Mandel’s state and federal campaign accounts show no donations and little other activity. His state account has a balance of $5,289 while Mandel continues to sit on $3.6 million in his federal account he used for his U.S. Senate run. Mandel’s latest federal filing this month showed he returned nearly $247,000 in contributions to donors.

Ps Bob 1st convicted gov while in office
WE have some of the BEST crooked politicians in Ohio. Former Gov Bob Taft ran off with a LOT of money from the Food Stamp/Welfare office....I forget the exact amount but I know it was not chump change....and that theft really hurt families for YEARS afterwards....
Wonder what Mandel has run off with seeing as he's too quiet?
