Lincoln University in Pennsylvania has posted bond after over half of its men’s basketball team was arrested.
Seven members of the basketball team were reportedly arrested over the weekend and charged after an altercation on campus. The charges included conspiracy to commit robbery, but no more specifics on the incident were available.
The players were able to play in Wednesday’s game, however, because the university posted bail for them. The school released a statement following the incident, saying the following:
“The university wishes to ensure that all students are able to complete the semester and be home for the holidays.”

Why should the university post bail?
Shouldn't the students who were arrested be responsible for bail?
What if a student that was not on a sports team were arrested?
Would the university post bail for them?
