Help, Oh Help, Oh Help, Oh....
Deraqnged Reflections
July 6, 2010
.
Looking back on a disordered life that I occasionally package as journalism, but that actually has more in common with the path of a large ball-bearing through a pinball machine, I don’t really think I will slit my wrists. Though it has its appeal. I mean, it’s unnerving to sail through the vastness of an unasked-for universe, round and round a minor sun, on a ball of rock with billions of…

DOES WHITE HOUSE “APOCALYPSE CULT” STEAL NUKES IN ARMAGEDDON PLOY?
By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
“Remember the one about the B-52 bomber that, according to legend, had six nuclear weapons loaded onto it by accident, which, of course, could not have happened—by accident—for a dozen different reasons, or more.”
In 2007, a bizarre…

Vice Chiefs Say Solutions Have Been Elusive.
The difference between [the Afghanistan War] and a nightmare is that when you wake up from a nightmare it's over. This is all too tragically real.
July 5, 2010 (Army Times) - As Congress continues to take military leaders to task over historically high suicide rates and mental health issues among the troops, the…

Bombs away! Remember Cambodia
By Ben Kiernan and Taylor Owen
The United States war in Afghanistan is "going badly", according to the New York Times. Nine years after American forces invaded to oust the repressive Taliban regime and its al-Qaeda ally, "the deteriorating situation demands a serious assessment now of the military and civilian strategies".
Aerial bombardment, a centerpiece of the US military effort in Afghanistan, has had a devastating impact on…

On July 4 General David Petraeus assumed command of 142,000 U.S. and NATO troops in a ceremony in the Afghan capital of Kabul. He succeeded the disgraced and soon to be retired General Stanley McChrystal as chief of all foreign troops in Afghanistan, those serving under U.S. Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A)/Operation Enduring Freedom and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
He now commands military units from…

The Case For War - The Iron Mountain Report
By Stephen Lendman
7-7-10
In his 1966 book, "How the World Really Works," Alan B. Jones included a chapter on the "Report from Iron Mountain: On the Possibility and Desirability of Peace," later published in 1967 by The Dial Press. It became a bestseller, then disappeared. Now few copies are available, but when circulating in the 1960s, it was reported that concerned Johnson administration officials ordered global US embassies to…

Nationalism and the long road to the Caliphate
Almost 70 years has elapsed, since the last major conflict erupted in the West, which ended in 1945. All the signs indicate peace is likely to continue, as ties between the Western nations are strengthened through various treaties, reinforcing their allegiance to a common set of values. Europe in particular, there exists is a momentum towards greater unification; the European Union (EU) has evolved from the European Economic…

A Dutch Radical Speaks His Piece and I Agree
For many years now a Dutch radical has been sending me his thoughts on
sundry subjects. I'm sending you his thought for today. His control of
English is not perfect, and it sometimes produces odd sentences and
unusual word usage. I just ignore these oddities and focus on the core
of his messages. Take the first sentence of the appended selection.
The 'is' is a brief form of…

GULF OF MEXICO (The Borowitz Report) – At a time when many thought that news out of the Gulf of Mexico couldn’t get any worse, BP announced today that the oil in the Gulf needs to be changed every six months.
“The oil will need to be changed every six months or every 15,000 lies,” said the BP spokesman. “Whatever comes sooner.”
The announcement about the oil change came on the heels of BP’s decision earlier in the week to separate the Gulf into two sections, full-serve and…

The 4th of July is a mixed experience for veterans. While it is often looked at as a day to honor us, we often can be found indoors while civilians are out enjoying the fireworks. In his blogpost below, our friend, Ryan Harvey, reflects on his own experience of this year's 4th of July celebration. Ryan is a musician and an organizer with the Civilian Soldier Alliance, IVAW's main organizing partner in our GI and Veterans Bill of Rights Campaign. He is based in Baltimore, Maryland.…

Obama Is Pathologically Inclined Toward Maximizing His Power
It seems as though every few weeks in every way there are more reasons
why Obama should be impeached. The following news clip is just one
more reason why this man should be stopped cold and removed from
office. I've repeatedly said he suffers from megalomania. I was and am
dead serious. The following CNN news clip is a prime example of his
power madness. These…

www.killinghope.orgSome thoughts on "patriotism" written on July 4
Most important thought: I'm sick and tired of this thing called "patriotism".
The Japanese pilots who bombed Pearl Harbor were being patriotic. The German people who supported Hitler and his conquests were being patriotic, fighting for the Fatherland. All the Latin American military dictators who…

How Much Oil Has BP

Mount Everest has a volume of approximately 365 cubic miles from sea level to the summit.
A cubic mile would hold 1.101117147 10 to the 12th gallons of liquid.
Thus: 11,011,171,470,000 gallons x 365 = 4,019,077,586,550,000

50 Statistics About The U.S. Economy That Are Almost Too Crazy To Believe
Most Americans know that the U.S. economy is in bad shape, but what most Americans don't know is how truly desperate the financial situation of the United States really is. The truth is that what we are experiencing is not simply a "downturn" or a "recession". What we are witnessing is the beginning of the end for the greatest economic machine that the world has ever seen. Our greed and our debt are literally eating…

On July 4th, 1776, the Continental Congress announced that the 13 colonies were no longer subjects to King George. The resulting Declaration of Independence is one of most sacred texts in the History of the World. It truly is a revolutionary document that reverses the age old doctrine that citizens exist to serve the needs of the monarch, or state. Instead, it boldly states that Monarchs and governments exist to serve the people. When governments no longer do so, it is the right of the people…

John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the white House for a group of the
brightest minds in the nation at that time. He made this statement:
"This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to
gather at one time in the White House with the exception of
when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
Especially read the last quote from 1802.
When we get piled
upon one another in large cities, as in Europe,
we shall become as corrupt as…

Is It Time for the House to Start an Impeachment Inquiry?
I believe this is so and am willing to accept the belief that I am
quite mad. Impeachment is a sad thought to have on this holiday, but
it's my transcendent thought during this time of crisis for our country.
As you read the chosen item for today, keep in mind that there has be
wide and deep coordination between the Obama White House and the
horrendous…
