Congressional proposals to fundamentally change the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), known as the Food Stamp program, are short-sighted and do not address the underlying need for the program: hunger. timesunion.com
According to new statistics released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture a record one in six Americans are now on food stamps. infowars.com

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the program has added 17 million people in the last four years. newamericamedia.org
The program does not cover nutritional supplements that are necessary for children - and adults - who aren't getting daily recommended values of nutrients and vitamins from the unhealthy foods they must subsist on. naturalnews.com
The figures come as the average monthly benefit payment per household has dropped, and is now at a post-April 2009 revision low of $282.38 a month. infowars.com

Where I'm employed at, I've sure seen a lot more of those EBT cards in the last year. If there's no jobs and families got to feed their babies, what is a person to do? It definetely isn't stimulating the economy by any means though. With no jobs or should I say decent paying jobs, there is no future for the US.
