It doesn’t matter where you live, chances are that if you travel anytime in the next week you will probably be seeing cops pulling people over everywhere.
News reports for almost every town in the country are warning of DUI checkpoints, speed traps and an increase in police activity for the whole week surrounding the thanksgiving holiday.
Most police departments depend on holidays to generate extra revenue and there will be overtime crews out there with the specific intention of pulling over average, nonviolent people to give them tickets.
They will be looking for people going over the speed limit, not wearing their seat belts, they will be checking tail lights and registration and they will even be setting up checkpoints in random spots all throughout the country.

I can understand this to a extent. Yes drunk driving is bad, speeding well everybody is some what guilty of that no matter what time of year it is.Seat belts well Ive alays said we are adults for the biggest part and it should be our choice if we want to wear those or not.Being forced to just isnt right. As far as checking the safety of your vehicle to me thats a just a excuse for them to harrass people and to check their paper work comrade, show me your papers and where are you going type of thing. The legality of these things has been questiones since they started doing them. I know people that have been pulled over for no reason detained, cars serched illegally and then given a ticket for a very minor infraction. But people think this is all ok so what can we do? Nothing The struggle goes on..........
Nothing new about this. I have seen this for many years. Simple, don't drink and drive, stay well within the speed limit, wear your seat belt, they are there for a reason. This is simple stuff that has been around of many years. Happy Thanksgiving to all,and play safe.
