Robin Williams, Oscar-Winning Actor, Dead at 63

By Tony Maglio TheWrap

Legendary actor and comedian Robin Williams died on Monday, a suspected  suicide. He was 63.

The Marin County coroner said in a statement that the death was suspected "to  be a suicide due to asphyxia."

"Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe  depression of late," said the comedian's spokeswoman Mara Buxbaum. "This is a  tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they  grieve during this very difficult time."

His wife, Susan Schneider, added: "This morning, I lost my husband and my  best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful  human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin's family, we are  asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is  our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of  joy and laughter he gave to millions."

sorry, never thought this guy was funny, just liked to hear himself rant alot and get pissed if people didn't laugh, had some serious self-worth issues, and this just proved that ;)

They say he was suffering from alcoholism and depression. Isn´t it this sick society that pushes the people  to all kinds of mental problems and and sometimes even suicide? What a loss.

Totally lost for words, Robin brought a lot of laughs, love and light into our lives.

When I heard about this I literally just stopped everything and broke down and cried.   This is strange for me because I've never reacted to the news of somebody's passing of whom I do not know personally like this.  I didn't really know how important his comic relief truly was til I heard he was no longer going to be able to give that to the world any more. I guess it goes all the way back to when I was a kid and couldn't get enough of Mork and Mindy.  Loved his zaniness from day one and for him to be in such a place internally while maintaining the outer persona of laughter incarnate must have taken its toll perhaps.  RIP Robin, my life would not be the same without the gifts of laughter you gave to the world.
