A gullible flock hurries head over heels to get the latest smart gizmos paying a fortune when they really can't afford it and could well do without them. It seems to be a matter of honour and to guarantee social acceptance to be abreast of the times to do it and follow the programming. Isn't that force of social engineering and manipulation awesome? People don't know or care what they are giving away using the smart tech phones and other appliances. We don't need a mark of the beast branded on us to be totally enslaved and spellbound. Most of us have given the rulers a right to have all our conversations recorded, our faces and surroundings photographed and our location exposed at all times. We even take the spy appliance to bathroom and have it beside bed.
See your phone, tablet or watch on a map. If current location isn’t available, you’ll see the last known location. Isn't it a cool feature to let you have your phone located at all times? You never thought that anyone else would be interested, like some Intelligence Services that have been cooperating and brain storming with Facebook, Google and Twitter to give better service, but to whom.
The honorable and trustworthy Google says you can switch these features on and off whenever you like. And the exploitables believe it .

RFIDs embedded in equipment you carry around can be eliminated by zapping them with a small EMP generator. Here is an example of such made from an old camera. Another way to do it is to give them some seconds of microwaves in a microwave oven.

@Mr. Sizzle, a good link about burner phones. I saw an article about cellphone privacy going even further into that but unfortunately I cannot find it anymore. The key points about keeping a cellphone that cannot be linked to you:
1. Best phone privacywise is one that can have its battery removed when not used.
2. Purchase the phone and a new prepaid sim card with cash
3. Don't give any personal details to the seller or service provider
4. Block the front camera lens before switching the phone on
5. Keep the phone off while at home or at work or with your friends to prevent it from being located with presence of other cellphones and in places you visit frequently. If the phone has battery on it can still be tracked, even when switched off.
Further considerations:
We can be tracked when carrying RFID chips such as in the passport, credit cards, smart appliances and equipment, even clothes. The chip sends its ID code when receiving a signal from an RFID surveillance post (reader) that can be anywhere, normally in shopping centers and in urban areas. When all chips that we carry are frequently seen in same locations they can be automatically cross checked to belong to the same person by surveillance software. When in presence of a cellphone the identity is confirmed to the phone's owner and RFID chips' carrier linked to it. After that the person can be identified by the RFID chips only even if he doesn't have a phone with him. RFID has found its way into everything, even rubber tyres.
