Watch End of the World Streaming LIVE - CERN started LHC First Physics Experiment and Webcast

OK maybe not the end of the World... but you never know

The LHC is ready to collide particles this morning. CERN has started the live webcast and you can watch the LHC control room and be there first hand when it blows up - just kidding.

The LHC (Large Hadron Collider) is set to generate collisions at 7 TeV (3.5 TeV per beam). It is not known yet when the first collision will happen.

Currently CERN expects the first collisions in a couple of hours.

GaryRea, I think God might have intended us to be black and all the white people are mistakes.

God speaks. That's interesting Todd.

Care to comment on the misogyny, murder, rape and slavery in the bible or do you only use the portions that fit your interpretations and needs?

Gary, I think God has said it much better than I ever could.

"From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they became utter fools instead." - Romans 1:20-22

I've thought that too and that might be correct. I'm not certain we'll ever know but it certainly isn't a 'choice' people decide upon.

Everybody seems to hate Homosexuals publicly. What if we find out Gods a bisexual and created man in his own image.

Accepting and tolerating everyone is easier for me then hate.

I agree but I have a serious problem with people that use forgiveness to exhibit poor behavior because they'll be forgiven afterwards.

And the bible? You mean that book filled with misogyny, rape, murder and slavery? Yeah, that's a great worldly guide that one can interpret to mean ANYTHING. If anything enslaves people and causes poor behavior it's definitely that book.

Hey, if it weren't for me these posts would have far fewer comments. The only difference between me and others is I'm not shy.

GaryRea, I've arrived at the conclusion that man is incapable of translating the bible without including mans perceptions in the translation and we'd be far better off as a race without the perverted interpretations we currently live with.

As to whether God exists or not I'm certain, if he/she does exist he's disturbed at the fact that people are using the perversion of religious belief we call the bible. Atheists and Agnostics at least use free will to determine that we need to be good for the sake of being good alone rather then rely on the concept of forgiveness to allow us to regard poor behavior as forgiven after the fact.
