What happened to the mp3's/music ?

Hi 12160

I tried to save the site a few bucks by taking the cheaper monthly package price.

It was more of a test to see if we could because we have well over their allowed storage on the site. So frankly I was surprise we were approved for the lower price.

It will cost us an additional 30 dollars a month to get mp3s back plus a few other options that come with it.

Currently its 30 or 50 a month

Personally I hate ning as our host so I hope this isnt a big issue for you all.

I would like your opinions, oh and another thing, we lost the ability to upload our own videos and any file above 5m. SUCKS!

Have your say, we paid this bill with your donations so do tell !

I just heard in my email that Playlist.com is going bankrupt over licensing fees. Which means they will start charging users for using the content on their sites.

i would see about keeping a drupal web server in your home, and use DYNDNS as your dns server.

I got a site up and running in two days last month using this arrangement. Its offline at the moment due to family squabbles >_< but it will be back up in about 3 weeks. after i move.

anywho, here's the setup.

*get an old dual-core rig with 2 gigs ram up and running. (judging by your site needs)

*download the turnkey drupal iso here: http://www.turnkeylinux.org/drupal6

*register with dyndns for a free subdomain (or two). Its been good to me. dandy
with DHCP dsl service.

*install turnkey drupal

*login on the local system and install ddclient. it'll ask for your dyndns info.

and voila! live drupal webserver in your house.

Thanks for the info MGM! I'll have to look into that because I like having the option of having tunes on my page. It is a healthy way to escape a lot of the heavy duty NWO topics and issues coming at us from all directions. Music soothes the battered and bruised up spirit.

Thanks for the post James! It's all good......not all is lost.
