It's fair to say that across the Anglo-American empire, those in police uniform are now, for the most part, state mercenaries and revenue collectors; no longer peace officers. This vocation now seems to attract a high number of individuals with sociopathic and violent tendencies. They no longer have any respect for those, who supposedly employ them. When public servants no longer serve the people, any 'authority' that has been entrusted to them is null and void.
Hey Vernon, I and I'm sure many here on 12160 don't think you are crazy or a liar. I will not judge you because I haven't walked a mile in your shoes. And to set your mind at ease, most of us here have dealt with not being understood, rejection and judgement from those who are the closest to us, whether they be family or friends. Let's face it, those of us in the know are looked at as nucking futs for the most part. I can't even talk to most of my family about what I know anymore because they literally think that I've lost my mind. They don't have a clue and don't even want to know the truth because it's too scary for them to comprehend and they know with the truth comes responsibility to do something about it. It is what it is.... unfortunately.
Getting back to subject at hand and Nikki's comment, police brutality has definetely risen to a level of barbaric proportions. The police are no longer peace officers, it is quite to the contrary. Even though I haven't had any bad experiences personally with cops (maybe it's because I'm a woman or don't have dark skin, who knows?) I've seen such brutal displays of police brutality all around me. It is getting out of control and something needs to change. The only solution to all this madness is Ron Paul 2012. He is our last hope for liberty, peace and prosperity.
I think good cops are a relic and once the last of them retire, 'Officer Friendly' will be a distant memory. Departments are not looking for recruits who want to 'help people' but to smash their heads in. And they have a steady supply of sadistic psychopaths returning from Iraq/Afghanistan from which to pick.
@Vernon, what do Buddhists in Tennessee believe in? Reintarnation? LOL
The Dalai Lama walks into a pizza parlor, looks over the menu, and announces, "Make me One with everything!"
Seriously Vernon, you made a wise move going to Canada when you did.
Of course I don't believe that all cops or law enforcement are bad, however I do believe like the old saying goes, it only takes a few bad apples to spoil up the whole bunch.
