I have a nephew who is extemely disabled and one of our babysitters who is disabled but more abled than most individuals that have the use of their two legs and a mind that God gave them. If either one of the of them were to be treated like this by a cop or anyone for that matter, that cop/person would be limping away in pain after one of my family/friends were done with them. How cowardly to go after the most vulnerable among us, disgusting!

I don't know why everyone here in Ontario talks about how great Vancouver is.... I really really don't.

It's sort of like this:

Most people think that Disabled People are a bunch of house-pets who live in a bubble. They think that we're babied, and need to get a taste of real life.

In the past 25 years, the 4 times somebody punched me out and took a few swings at me, was after a common statement.

They'd say: 'If you acted the way you do with people who don't know you, they'd punch you out, man. You just think you can get away with it, "because you're disabled"!'--And then crunch through the side of the head, or a few blows from more than one direction.

In 2004, a long-term patient here was stealing from patients, but nobody caught him. My wife and I knew pretty well who it was, and I was his first victim. When Nancy and me came back from having dinner out one night, tough guy Johnny was in the hall.

I asked him how he liked my new razor, and the blades?--He said, "oh, it was pretty nice". He came to the room a couple of minutes later, and said he couldn't really hear what I asked him. So, I spelled it out really well, and he tried to deny it.

I spread the word to everybody to watch your stuff, and they all gave me the ususal, 'you can't accuse someone without evidence'. My reply was, you guys can play that role all you want, because some of you guys (workers) would like to get away that easily, too.

One day I explained to a house-keeper, and Johnny came by and took 4 swings at me. I moved into his legs with my mean-machine to just tip his balance to block the 4th blow, and Nancy started freaking out.

I just had the nurses call the cops. After split interviews with both him and me, the cops said I could file a lawsuit.--But the judge would probably side with him, because you hit him with your wheelchair.

So, I said that, if guys like me do the least thing of self-defense, we'll take the rap.--Is that it? Cops didn't reply. So, I said that it seems that the only recourse then, is to kill my enemy. They left.

In 2005 a worker took a swing at me just a day after the head-nurse asked me to just let him do his job. I tried, but he wouldn't do what he was supposed to do. After 5 minutes I kicked him out of the room, and he took a swing at me.

When the head-nurse got to work, I explained everything and answered any questions she had. Then I told her, that that is the very last time I'll ever let anybody take a free shot at me, regardless of who they are.

Mark my word, if anyone takes a swing at me it won't even connect.--and I guarantee you right now, that I will take down anything and anybody in my way.--But I will get my enemy.

To this day, things have happened a few times, but they never come close to taking a swing at me.

With cops, alot of those guys are just legalized gang members.--And the cop-shop is just their club-house!

I was on the streets alot in Vancouver, between '71-74. It looks like things have never changed.

If a cop like this was ever under fire he'd no doubt hide behind a troop of girl scouts to use as human shields.
