Let's just go back to the drawing board, leave aside all of the assumptions of Christian history, look at the texts afresh, consider every possibility, and open the whole game up. By doing that we'll see that Christianity is really paganism by a different name.
Some of the Bible scholars are mavericks working outside the restrictions of mainstream religious institutions. This allows them the freedom to provide fresh insights and draw some startling conclusions about how Christianity was formed.
And for Joseph Atwill the key lies in the Dead Sea Scrolls, the only Jewish literature ever discovered from the first century AD or CE... the time Jesus would have been preaching among the Jews. The characters in the Dead Sea Scrolls were militaristic and you can see that this movement wanted to push the foreigners out of Israel; they were fundamentalists, whereas the characters of the Gospels are different.
They're pacifistic, they're turning the other cheek, they're giving the Caesar what is Caesar's. How did a movement like Christianity come to exist in a region that was occupied by Roman soldiers and had Jewish zealots within it that were going to push these Romans out? How was that possible?
Joseph began studying the other two major works of that era, The 'New testament' and the 'Wars of the Jews' by Josephus, a Roman court historian who described the war between the Romans and the Jews in the first century. While reading these works side by side he noticed an amazing connection between them.
Certain events from the ministry of Jesus seem to closely parallel episodes from the military campaign of Titus Flavius. A campaign which took place forty years after Jesus supposedly lived. Joseph's efforts to understand these connections led him to an incredible discovery. Christianity had been invented by a little known family of Roman Caesars, the Flavians, and they left us documents to prove it.

The author
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acharya_S
As a writer she publishes under the title of acharya, a term from Hinduism for the teacher or leader of a religious group.[8]
In 1999, as Acharya S, she published her first book, The Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold, arguing the concept of Jesus Christ as myth. She states the Christ story is a fabrication.[9] In 2001, she wrote the foreword to a new edition of The World's Sixteen Crucified Saviors: Christianity Before Christ, a book by 19th-century skeptic Kersey Graves.
A follow-up book, Suns of God: Krishna, Buddha and Christ Unveiled, was published in 2004. In it she comments on the Hindu story of the life of Krishna, as well as the life of Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama). She claims parallels to the Christian stories of the life of Jesus as evidence that the story of Jesus was written based on existing stories, and not the life of a real man. Suns of God also seeks to address some of the criticisms leveled at Christ Conspiracy.[10]
She founded Seattle based Stellar House Publishing in 2005, through which she self-publishes a number of her books. According to the website, they claim to specialize in "Archaeology, History, Astrotheology, Mythology and Religion".[11]
In 2005–06 she was one of fifty Fellows of The Council for Secular Humanism's Committee for the Scientific Examination of Religion (CSER).[12]
Her 2007 book, Who Was Jesus? Fingerprints of The Christ continues the theme of The Christ Conspiracy by expanding her theory questioning the historical validity of Jesus Christ alleging "early Christian history to be largely mythical, by sorting through available historical and archaeological data."[13]
In 2009 she released Christ in Egypt: The Horus-Jesus Connection and The Gospel According to Acharya S.[14] Her work was used in part 1 of Zeitgeist: The Movie, for which she acted as consultant.[15]
She is representing a gnostic/freemasonry view, that is as old as the Bible.
The Gnostic student seeks to acquire their own direct experience of the light (the Truth) by means of awakening the consciousness and eliminating obscurations to perception. The method to accomplish this task has been called:
- Gnosis (Greek) knowledge
- Jnana (Sanskrit): knowledge
- Daath (Hebrew): knowledge
- Dharma (Sanskrit): righteousness, law, truth, teaching
- Torah (Hebrew): teaching, instruction, law
...and many other names. By comparing all of these ancient teachings, we can see that all religious forms have in their heart a science of Gnosticism: a method to arrive at personal knowledge of the Truth.
I think it is right to understand Gnostisism as anti-Christian/anti-Muslim, and rather materialistic.
