A second shooter in Arizona ?
Police suspect a second gunman due to the spread of the firing on the ground and the number of victims.
Pima County Sheriff's Deputy Rich Kastigar told reporters that a rifle with an extended magazine was found at the scene of the shooting spree.

Cops Hunt Second Man Believed to Be Involved in Congresswoman Giffords Shooting
"We are not convinced that [the gunman in custody] acted alone, there is some reason to believe he came to this location with another individual, and that individual is involved," Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said.
Dupnik declined to provide more information on the second individual who he would only describe as "white" and "in his 50s." Authorities have photographs of the person of interest and are "actively pursuing him," the sheriff said.

The Arizona sheriff helping investigate the shooting of Representative Gabrielle Giffords and others says the gunman may not have acted alone.
Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said at a news conference in Tucson on Saturday that authorities may have a photo of another suspect.
Dupnik says officials believe a suspect in custody may have come to the grocery store parking lot with another person, and that person was in some way involved.
Dupnik would offer no other information.

Bizarre background on shooting suspect

9 On Your Side is learning more about shooting suspect, Jared Lee Loughner, and what may have gone through his mind before the shooting.

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV9) - Jared Lee Loughner's photos paint the picture of a young, seemingly innocent man. But authorities say, he pulled the trigger several times over on Saturday morning shooting nineteen people. Six of them died. Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik told reporters Saturday night "he has mental issues".
The 22 year old was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, and hasn't been seen publicly since.
9 On Your Side spoke with a 21 year old woman who went to school with Loughner in middle school and high school. She said, "When I knew him he was odd. Not psychopath, just odd. Most kids at 12, 13, 24 are weird. He was odd, but not that weird."
She went on to say, "When I heard it was him that did it, it was shocking. He never said creepy, psychopathic things. He would listen to hard core, heavy metal music. But when I knew him he wasn't like crazy our anything. Just odd. It was kind of we rid to see this transformation from someone who is like a little bit odd, to like, crazy, 'I'm going to kill a bunch of people."
Loughner as posted some bizarre videos on his YouTube channel. The most controversial video shows someone in a mask lighting an American flag on fire. It's titled "America: your last memory in a terrorist country".
On December 15, 2010, Loughner posted another video online. He writes:
"My favorite activity is conscience dreaming"
"Firstly, the current government officials are in power for their currency, but I'm informing you for your new currency".
"My hope is for you to be literate. If you're literate in English grammar then you comprehend English grammar. The majority of people who reside in District 8 are illiterate. Hilarious."
"If I have my civil rights then this message wouldn't have to happen."
"In conclusion, my ambition is for informing literate dreamers about a new currency... in a few days, you'll know I'm conscience dreaming."
At this point, no official word on Loughner's motives have been released. Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik told reporters at a news conference Saturday night that Loughner has a criminal history and that campus officials at Pima Community College had difficulties with him on campus.
What appears to be Loughner's myspace page was captured by website Good Politics before it was deleted. In one of the last messages left this morning, he wrote "Goodbye friends. Please don't be mad at me. The literacy rate is below 5%. I haven't talked to one person who is literate. I want to make it out alive. The longest war in the history of the United States. Goodbye. I'm saddened with the current currency and job employment. I had a bully at school. Thank you. P.S. --plead the fifth!"
Loughner went to Tortolita Middle School in Marana. A district spokesperson says that Loughner spent his freshman through junior years at Mountain View High School. Then, he withdrew from school before his senior year. Loughner says online that he's a student at Pima Community College and that he's a military recruit for the Army in Phoenix.
According to online court records, Loughner went to count in 2007 for possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

Sheriff: Giffords shooter has 'mental issues'

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said the man who shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and 18 others Saturday morning has 'mental issues." He also said he has a criminal history.
Dupnik said in a news conference at 6 p.m. at the Westward Look Resort that the shooter was tackled by two people. He had already struck 19 people, including one child, a federal judge and members of Giffords' staff.
Giffords was at her first official congressional event of the new year at a Safeway store in the shopping center at Ina and Oracle roads at 10 a.m. when she was shot in the head "through and through," a University Medical Center surgeon said.
That means the bullet did not lodge inside her head. She is in critical condition and the surgeon said he is optimistic that she will recover.
Dupnik said this is "a day of personal sadness for many of us in this room."
He said the shooting began shortly after 10 a.m. at a town hall type of meeting at the shopping center.
Dupnik said five people were killed. Deputies said they are still working on "next of kin notification" at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and they did not release the names of any of the other victims, other than U.S. District Court Judge John Roll.
Roll was among the five killed at the scene.
Dupnik said Roll had gone to morning Mass downtown and just stopped by Giffords' event. He had intended to go home and "do the floors, which he did every week," Dupnik said, after church.
"Unfortunately he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He was one of the finest human beings I have ever known in my life," Dupnik said.
Dupnik said Giffords was one of the "nicest human beings ever put on this earth.
She cares about the United States of America. I hope all Americans are as saddened and shocked as I am and I hope they are as angry as I am," Dupnik said.
"It's time to do a little soul searching about the rhetoric we hear on the radio, how are children are being raised," the sheriff said.
"We have become the mecca for racism and bigotry."

A press conference on today’s shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has been scheduled for 3:45 p.m. EST / 1:45 p.m. CST.
A federal judge from Arizona was among the 11 others shot, and it’s also believed that one of Giffords aides was killed in the assault. In all, 5 people are confirmed dead and 6 have been injured.
The suspect is believed to be a while male and born in 1988, although he has not been named.

I would bet there was more than a second shooter, probably a third and fourth; in the grassy knoll. I would be surprised if Loughner was responsible for hitting more than one of the victims. And a federal judge with previous death threats and no security in public? WTF?
I also get the feeling, from Loughner's YT videos, that he was programmed with hypnotism which has a distinct CIA flavor to it.

Arizona Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, now dubiously described as voicing "the left's grief", wasted no time in attacking free speech. Almost immediately,

Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips condemned the attack on Giffords, but warned supporters that the Tea Party movement would be blamed by political opponents.
"While we need to take a moment to extend our sympathies to the families of those who died, we can not allow the hard left to do what it tried to do in 1995 after the Oklahoma City bombing," he said.

Did he act alone?
Most semi-automatic handguns only carry ten rounds or less with the exception of berettas, glocks, and some S&W's which carry 15...16 with one in the tube. Some glocks have 18 round factory made magazines while there are aftermarket magazines available for all three manufacturers in up to 20 or more rounds depending on the model.
Anyone know the make and model of the gun? It isn't hard to figure out the maximum capacity available for any firearm.
Here we have 18 people with gunshot wounds and I also saw a report saying that everyone had a head shot.
I'm good....Damn good....But even I couldn't unload a magazine on 18 separate targets and score 18 head shots in a matter of a few seconds and I was a fucking green beret! Look at the links James has posted! For someone that wasn't even aiming he sure as hell was pretty damn lucky with what and where he hit. Is there a video of this shooting? Where were the Marshalls protecting the judge? County Sheriffs? Any law enforcement protection at all for a congress member in a public setting? ABC was reporting that a bystander took the gunman down.
I have worked executive and vip protection for a long time since leaving the military and this smells of bullshit! Anyone on the job knows your eyes are on the primary at all times and on anyone who is close to them. This kid would not have gotten his weapon out and aimed before I had drawn down on him. Before he fired the first round he would have three in his brain. So my question in all this is what the fuck happened?
This reeks! What was she working on? What initiatives was she spearheading? This woman was obviously expendable! How else could this have happened? This kid could not have possibly done this alone.
Look at what will result from this. No more public interaction with your elected representatives. How can you question their judgment now that they have a reason to not be questioned by their constituents out of safety concerns?
Another excuse for more gun legislation......I smell a new Brady Bill in the works here. Gifford Gun Control Act anyone?
How about the fizzle bombs mailed to public officials in the past few weeks? This is all leading up to one big stage managed event that will bring about martial law. Want to know why? Because the country is broke and before the entire population wakes up to it, they have to demonize those who have tried to expose it and rain in the fence straddlers before they get their asses handed to them by real patriots. All the sheep and all those who are on the fence have one more reason to lock their doors, keep their mouths shut, and watch dancing with the stars while trusting that the government knows best tonight because one lone nut-job committed an act of terrorism. It just goes to show that a few patsies for the media to ostracize here and there makes for good fear-mongering.
