Don't touch that cucumber! Islamic cleric bans women from touching 'penis-shaped' foods in case it arouses them

An Islamic cleric living in Europe has said that women should not be close to bananas or cucumbers, in order to avoid any 'sexual thoughts'.

The unnamed sheikh was quoted by el-Sawsana news saying that if women wish to eat these food items, a third party, preferably a male relative, should cut the items into small pieces and serve.

The cleric said that these fruits and vegetables 'resemble the male penis' and could arouse women or 'make them think of sex,' in a story reported on Egyptian news website Bikya Masr.

He also added carrots and courgette to the list of forbidden foods for women.

The sheikh was asked how to 'control' women when they are out shopping for groceries and if holding these items at the market would be bad for them.

The carrot should also join the forbidden list of foods for women to touch

The cleric answered saying this matter is between them and God.

Answering another question about what to do if women in the family like these foods, the sheikh advised the interviewer to take the food and cut it for them in a hidden place so they cannot see it.

The opinion has stirred a storm of anger among Muslims online, with hundreds mocking the cleric.

One reader said that these religious 'leaders' give Islam 'a bad name' and another saying he should quit his post immediately.

Another dismissed the sheikh as merely a publicity seeker.

No official responses from Islamic scholars have been made on the statements as yet.

How can anybody, including Muslim women have sexual thoughts from a vegetable? It's good for a joke maybe but not to be taken seriously.This is ridiculous! The sexual thoughts are obviously coming from the cleric himself. There's probably a twisted perv deep inside of him. All in the name of religion..... wtf!!!!

that is the problem when such pervs are granted authority, even if it is only a "moral" one it often translates as legal one when fundamentalists are allowed to grasp power.

Anyway what's wrong with having sexual thoughts and why would it be worse for a woman to have them?

Aren't they part of a normal psyche ?

I hear ya Maria and I agree with your analysis. What gives any man the authority over a woman's life, especially when it comes to our own sexual thoughts? Are they not are own? How can any man or anyone else for that nature own what is rightfully ours alone? Isn't it a normal human part of being a woman, just like it is normal for men to have sexual thoughts about a woman? It's all just nucking futs, isn't it?

There may be much more than that lurking behind his mind, Nikki. Controlling and condemning women and sexuality has always been the first step in controlling humanity, so old that it is even one of the TPTB/"NWO" first books / stories. It is about controlling thoughts and customs, first you ban women seeing/manipulating cucumbers and carrots, then you hide them behind a burqa, then you further denigrate and torture half the population through several kinds of physical mutilation, "to protect them and for their own -moral- good".

Sowing morals and guilt has always been a great business if you hold the monopoly to redemption, banning natural impulses is a surefire way to keep the sheeple in your paddoks; even HERE terms of service limit what you can or can't post following these culturally ingrained bans

I agree Maria. All religions are paternalistic. They say that women must be protected from men and from themselves yet men can do whatever. When some women gain enough courage to speak out about it, their lives will be in danger. I love how Ayaan Hirsi Ali won't give up her fight, she's so brave.

It sounds like this crazy cleric has a lot of insecurity concerning his own sexual relationship. Excuse the pun, but ... he probably got the short end of the stick in the endowment department. It just make sense because he sounds like a little prick.
