'Robin Hoods' who feed parking meters are hit with lawsuit in New Hampshire

Some activists I know, stirring up a bit of ruckus ;)

By Erin McClam, Staff Writer, NBC News

A group of self-styled Robin Hoods who scamper around the streets of a New Hampshire city and feed expired parking meters for strangers has been hit with a harassment lawsuit.

The city of Keene says its three parking inspectors have been taunted, insulted and followed by the group — to the point that one of them says he has suffered heart palpitations and is thinking about quitting his job.

In its lawsuit, the city is asking a court to order the group not to come within 50 feet of the parking inspectors.

The suit names six defendants, most of them bloggers for Free Keene, which describes itself on its Facebook page as “your connection to the liberty activism movement in New Hampshire.”

“The city is upset because they are losing revenue and are coming up with anything they can to try to stop it,” he said.

I don't think this was the 'change' Obama had in mind :-)

Robin Robbed from the rich, not the state,, but I get it

So what is really happening is the city isn't able to issue as many parking tickets and it is hitting em where it hurts, the pocketbook.  So these parking meters are really looked at as money opportunities for the city's tax  books.  Striking out at people who are actually giving money to the city by paying expired meters seems a bit like the Sheriff of Nottingham being pissed off because not enough parking tickets are being handed out!  What a sham.  Total and blatant money trap.  The city should be forced to tear up all it's meters and offer free parking for being so vile!

Baseball bat. Problem solved.

Just as a point of reference ... where would you apply the ball bat?

Those meters have little computers in them. Is there any way to produce a small, localized EMP that can be switched on and off at will?

As in "no obvious damage, but no working meters either".

Something about the size of a transistor radio would be about right. If it were powerful enough to 'discuss matters' with the scooters, too, that would be a nice bonus.

The NH state motto is, "Live Free or Die". Maybe they should change it to something more accurate, like, "Pay Up or Die"?  If the town of Keene is having a problem filling their coffers with tribute extorted from its citizens, maybe they should get smaller coffers?

So, tell me again, how did the city get the right to rent parking spaces?

I'm confused.

Did they pay for them? With what? Taxes?

Where did they get those taxes?

Oh, I see, they got the taxes to pay for the parking spots from the same people they are issuing the tickets to.

Thank you for clearing that up. I feel ever so relieved to get that sorted out.

Now, off to eBay to see if I can grab a couple of those portable EMP generators before someone else outbids me.

Hey, you can't tie your horse to that tree without paying me a parking fee.

BTW, stop ridding your horse so fast and buckle up, for your own safety and the safety of others, or face fines, we may even revoke your horse riding rights.

Fuck, forgot, where is your horse rider insurance?

Got a tag for that Horse? Is it registered with the Department of Horse Riding Services?

This model horse has to wear a specific horse shoe to preserve the roads.
