COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) —
More than 800 residents are being offered bottled water after higher than normal lead levels were found in the drinking water at Buckeye Village Apartments on The Ohio State University campus.
"It makes me wonder when did they do the testing? How long has it been in the water? I am a bit nervous," said Kristina Vick, as she picked up two gallon jugs of water for her family, which includes two young children. "I am going to be paranoid about the water they drink."
OSU officials say elevated lead levels were discovered a few days ago during preventive routine testing in five of 19 units picked for evaluation.
Officials do not believe the contamination came from the water supply. They said the lead troubles are contained to the apartment complex and are not widespread across campus. http://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/buckeye-village-residents-told-not-to-drink-water-after-high-lead-levels-detected
