A 22-year-old man with Somali roots is currently imprisoned in a case of a particularly serious sexual assault where a 75-year-old ethnic Danish man was a victim.
The 22-year-old denies guilt.
According to the charges, the matter ensued early this morning at around. 04.50 at Vesterport Station in Copenhagen.
Here the man was charged with threatening the 75-year-old for oral sex. And when the man refused, he repeatedly hit the 75-year-old man with knuckled fists and threatened to throw him in front of a train.
Accounts said the older man was threatened and added the 22-year-old also hit the 75-year-old with an umbrella and struck him in the crotch.
At today's hearing, the 22-year-old explained that he had been drunk and slept at the station. He woke up when a man rubbed his shoulder. At this point, the 22-year-old became aggressive, he explained.
He also said that during this incident he had been called 'monkey' and 'nigger'. And therefore, the 22-year-old went after the man. According to his own explanation, he stopped striking when he realized that it was an elderly man.
At the hearing, the prosecutor informed him that the video of the episode like witnesses had seen him beat the 75-year-old with the umbrella.
Nevertheless, the 22-year-old stubbornly denied the case.
The 22-year-old was arrested on the spot shortly after police had been called by witnesses.
The man was imprisoned for four weeks.
