Scherie Murray was born in Jamaica, West Indies, and came to New York City with her family when she was nine. Growing up in Southeast Queens, Scherie learned early on about the importance of hard work, the value of a good education and the strength of a united community.
Scherie went to I.S. 192 where she was a gymnast. She then graduated with an outstanding community service award from the Law, Government and Community Service Magnet High School (formerly Andrew Jackson H.S.) and became the captain of her high school’s gymnastics team.
When she was 17, Scherie worked as a systems analyst for the NYC MTA Jamaica Bus Depot. While earning her Associate of Applied Science in Micro Computer Business Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism, Scherie taught gymnastics for an after-school program in Far Rockaway, Queens. She also volunteered and served as senior editor on her college newspaper – The New Tech Times.
In 2004, Scherie had a vision of starting her own company. With a mission to address the lack of minorities in media, Scherie created The Esemel Group. Through advertising, production and programming work, Esemel generated employment opportunities for minorities in New York City.
Scherie is also a proud Veterans advocate and continually works to revitalize her district by advocating for small businesses and economic development, promoting more school choices for parents, strengthening community police relations with commonsense solutions, and starting a larger dialogue around comprehensive immigration reform.

AOC has a failed business for which she still owes taxes, only talks about helping people, can't use the woman of color card in the campaign and offers experience as a bartender.

She may well be a plant and fake. But Jamaica is a Parliamentary Democracy and Constitutional Monarchy within the Commonwealth of Nations. As of 2019, there are 16 Commonwealth realms: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and the United Kingdom. All 16 Commonwealth realms are members of the Commonwealth of Nations, an intergovernmental organisation of 53 member states. Elizabeth II is Head of the Commonwealth.

I never had a problem with the Irish and I know they got a bum deal but do did Austrians like my ancestors, but with the influx of all these minorities from third world shit hole countries ruled under dictators and socialists and with the Democrats exploiting the radical ones. This has to be an issue.

Her company addresses the lack of minorities in media, not just blacks. The 14th District is 54% Non-White and 47% Immigrants, therefore does not represent nationwide statistics. The fact that she is of Jamacian decent apparently means that no matter what she does she is suspect. Wow. Much like my ancestors who came here from Ireland, who were considered the bottom of the barrel merely because of their heritage.

One particular insight into her agenda is her presumption there are so few minorities in the entertainment field. If anything minorities especially blacks ay 13% of the population get the kind of advocacy that make you think they make up 50% of the population. Jamaican background is highly suspect.

Sweettina2, I'm sorry the post upset you. I actually posted this because she is an immigrant who appears to embrace America. She became successful through work and education. She saw a need in her community and created a company to address that need. As opposed to AOC's Squad (the real commies) who do nothing but complain and play victims.
