There was a funny sound
Laughter all around
No longer earthbound,

Rain drops that would never drown
All slithering down like your gown,

Today it seems the rain is gone
Everything changes and moves on
How short lived is the dawn
Rejected from whom I was once drawn,

Bring back that magical rain
Turn back the clock on all the pain
But for the tragedy of the human stain
The reality of it all quite plain,

That's why I fall into the rain
If only in my mind
Some peace I can possibly find
A sanctuary from the bitter rind,
