We spoke yesterday of the National Rifle Association declining to participate in a Justice Department dialog on guns proposed by President Obama to “find common ground.” We also noted the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms volunteering to fill that void. CCRKBA’s Alan Gottlieb announced his organization “would be eager to talk with the White House, especially about the ‘Project Gunrunner’ and ‘Fast and Furious’ scandals, where federal agents helped facilitate gun sales to suspected gunrunners.”
What’s it all about? Per The New York Times:
On Tuesday, officials at the Justice Department will meet with gun control advocates in the first of what will be a series of meetings over the next two weeks with people on different sides of the issue, including law enforcement, retailers and manufacturers, to seek agreement on possible legislative or administrative actions.
