As John Carman said there is NO technology that can detect a firearm.

A gun being fired actively would present a heat signature on FLIR (unless shielded), but a cold (unfired) gun - no.

This is more dronetoid (to borrow a phrase from Mark Koernke on Liberty Tree Radio) fearmongering BS - to push the 'resistance is futile' propaganda.

This technology requires operators, maintenance technicians etc  

If they intend to harm the innocent, they will be found and dealt with.

I am not sure I believe all this just yet. I remember when we had to register our pre-ban assault weapons(semi-automatic) in California under Gray Davis in 2001. Subsequent to that, Gray Davis was recalled and replaced while the "registration" was deemed "Un-Constitutional" in 2003/2003. California also held a "drop test" in which most semi-autos were dropped at a certain height of about 4-5 feet high and to see if the hammer would activate. I have done this professionally as well, and a 357 magnum with it hammer cocked will NOT go ff even if you drop it unless YOU somehow "TOUCH" the Trigger. Even a pencil hitting the cocked Trigger will not do it. (empty gun used even with a pencil inside the barrel tests the same negative response) Semi-autos are different and "some" went off no matter what you did. They were placed on a prohibited list. 

The main crux of the restriction was allegedly against "Saturday Night Specials" that could still be bought on any street corner today especially in Florida and New Your.(East Coast) as they were made in places like Brazil, Mexico,Russia, Germany, Spain, etc...

I repeat that registration of these assault semi-autos was "Illegal".(Feintstein was also a Senator too.) It was NOT illegal to have a semi-auto, but the Democrats(Communists) still wanted to take out guns. Registration is the "First Step" towards actual confiscation.

  I have heard Judges discuss this until THEY are Blue in the face as will, but what part of "..shall not be infringed" do they not understand??? That means that ANY registration dealing with assault weapons that are NOT fully automatic, are legal to have and every little "nit picking" item the Democrats try to put on these restrictions like no bayonet, muti-capacity magazine, fold down stock, special sights, etc...is still all part of a plan to eventually prohibit and take away our guns while people like Obama will take your guns and claim you still have your Second Amendment rights? Bull shit !!!

Once your guns are taken away, what will YOU Have to defend yourself against an "Illegal" Government?

CNET.com reported that DHS’s “specifications for its drones … ‘shall be capable of identifying a standing human being at night as likely armed or not,’” and that “They also specify ‘signals interception’ technology that can capture communications in the frequency ranges used by mobile phones and ‘direction finding’ technology that can identify the locations of mobile devices or two-way radios.”

The disclosure was based on an apparent “unredacted copy” of the May 26, 2005, CBP Office of Air and Marine (OAM) Performance Specification for the DHS/Customs and Border Protection Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System document that DHS released in redacted form to the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

An updated March 10, 2010 CBP OAM performance specifications document for CBP’s Predator B UAV also was obtained by EPIC under the FOIA, and portions of it also were redacted.

Most of the redactions, though, were made pursuant to legitimate FOIA exemptions authorizing the withholding of records compiled for law enforcement purposes or that would disclose techniques and procedures for law enforcement investigations.

Much of the redacted information deals with sensitive operational and performance capabilities of CBP’s fleet of Predators, as well sensitive technical data on the UAVs’ sensor packages and specifications.

President Obama held a press conference today to announce his new Guns or Drones program. The program was implemented so that gun owners who possess any of the guns under Feinstein’s Legislation are closely monitored 24/7 by military drones. This comes as shocking news since most of the nation is still in a heated debate about gun control and the idea of drones killing American citizens.
Obama explained why the new Guns or Drones program is necessary and how it will benefit society. “Folks, the guns listed under Feinstein’s Legislation are dangerous weapons. There is no reason any non-military personnel should have these types of weapons on their person,” Obama said. “This is not about the second amendment or limiting an individual’s personal freedom. This is about keeping are streets, neighborhoods and children safe, and the Guns or Drones program will do exactly that.”

Paul Horner who is a spokesman for the Obama Administration explained further how theGuns or Drones program will work. “Any household not surrendering their soon to be illegal firearms will be put on the National Drone List or NDL. Their house will be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by military drones flying overhead. If our drone surveillance team notices any unusual activity coming from your residence, working alongside with local authorities, military action can and will be taken.”

Sounds like BS to me. The only way to detect a person with a gun is using FLIR technology with infrared type cameras which take a picture live" of a human and see if there is anything in the hand that resembles "cold steel"(Which is also magnetic) Also a violation of the 4th Amendment right against illegal search and seizure and privacy issues. There is no technology that can detect guns by themselves. 

I guess, they didn't consider the polymers in some other firearms and new technology?

BIG Brother is getting too big too fast, on the other hand it is good technology for War time or military use.(As always)

Start learning about microwave technology.

Pretty soon, they will make it illegal for YOU to tamper with a drone device flying over your own property if it is legally marked. But those things are very small. It could look like a very large BUG(Dragon Fly) and some might be tempted to shoot at it to protect themselves or pets and livestock.
