Jen, I think the generation with young children today can't see the problem because they went through the same school system so it seems normal to them.  You know who does see it?  The people who move here from other countries.  They complain to the schools but to no avail.  Arguing with school administrators is almost futile because they insist their way is the right way.  You practically have to threaten to sue them to even get their attention.
