Researchers have determined that situations in which the top wage earners earn more than twenty-five times what the people at the bottom make leads to violent revolution. I used to work thirty feet from a woman who was paid five million dollars a year. I had to feel for her because I saw her being manipulated into ridiculous situations by people who claimed to be introducing her to the latest management theories. However, she made 100 times what I made each month.  Was she worth it?  How could she be?  Assistant coaches in top football colleges make a million dollars a year. Are they worth it? Of course not. But, they can get it. Is an assistant coach worth more than the President of the United States?  Well .... starting with Ronald Reagan, they might very well be worth more than the President.

The community has no "good order," John. There is an increasing income gap between the upper one percent and everyone else. We had "good order" under Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy. The top tax bracket was 90 percent and the rich got richer at the same rate as everyone else. That was changed with disastrous results. Under Ronald the Traitor and every subsequent president, RespoobliKKKan and DINO,  the one-sided class warfare Reagan created has gotten worse and worse.  The "top" one percent has had their net worth TRIPLE while everyone else stagnated. The same thing has gone on in congress. They have had their net worth go up by 25 percent in the past two years, but even there we have a problem. The 50 richest members of congress have received 90 percent of the increase.

Before I begin, I am operating without hearing the police officers' side of the story. However, this is getting ridiculous! They are denying people FOOD! They call this "laying siege"-- a tactic as old as warfare itself. In other words, once the cops realized that they can't keep shooting protesters out of the area, they started trying to starve them out.

 

I would bet money that this ordinance being used as an excuse to shut down the food table was written after the OWS protest began at the earliest. Who would be distributing food at City Hall after 10 PM "normally"? Most social and civic functions are trying to clean up the mess by then.

 

Okay, lets assume that the law was passed years ago. Do the germs that the City of Austin are afraid of magically stop working between the hours of 6AM and 10PM? No, of course not.

 

At best this is just another bullshit maneuver to attempt to stop the protests, nothing more.
