Are They Nuts!? IMF Proposes $1.40 a Gallon Gas Tax on US Drivers

The national average for a gallon of gasoline is currently at $3.65. On top of that sky-high price, the International Monetary Fund has now proposed that the U.S. should impose a tax of $1.40 per gallon in order to pay for social programs around the world and help the environment.

Neil Cavuto discussed this proposal with FBN's Charles Payne, who said sometimes you hear things and you just have to ask, "Are you nuts!?"

We have a horse...they eat grass. Sure you can only do about 8 miles a day but if you have local businesses then you could ride your bike or horse into town easy.

I would like for city people to understand that most of this country is country. I have to go 20 miles to shop - I go maybe once a week into town. It would take me maybe 2.5 days to ride a horse into town for supplies. But, if my little town was once again thriving with local commerce I could ride my bike.

I think it would be a great idea for communities to petition getting rid of wal-mart which is sucking the life blood out of many communities that would bring back local businesses. Watch people thrive...and thrive they will.

That and home energy prices are crippling the poorest as private energy suppliers make millions in profit, food is rising pretty much weekly, living will soon be the preserve of the rich if it continues, we already have spreading malnutrition where folk must choose between heating or eating... We are in the midst of cull tactics now and things seem to have become intense coinciding with the arrival of Jesuit Pope Francis... alleged baby dealer... Curiously Xi Xinping was inaugurated the next day in direct opposition to the energies of the Pope, Xi is a Light warrior... What with Cyprus having money directly stolen from bank accounts, which I find an attempt to create bank runs in the wider world, leaving only the most Criminal element, The Central Banks as monopolisers of money creation. Comment by arisuta2 on April 1, 2013 at 10:51am: The real joke of the entire situation is that we could all be driving environmentally friendly cars that run off f*ck all except what would the oil companies do with all those billions of gallons of petrol they would still have to produce to get at the other useful oils contained in the crude stuff? We need the heavier oils to make plastics, tar and lubricants but the lighter fuel would be, (and is) a waste product that they would have to get rid of some other way. They should be paying us for the waste disposal work we do for them every time we drive their dirty, polluting, pieces-of-shit cars.
