Obama Policy Would End Civilian Marksmanship Program
President Barack Obama's newly announced executive order to stop the re-import of military-grade weapons could essentially end the 110-year-old Civilian Marksmanship Program.
Congress created the program as part of the 1903 War Department Appropriations Act to help citizens perfect their marksmanship. Today, those who receive the antiquated weapons must submit to a background check, comply with all federal and state laws, and be a member of a CMP-affiliated shooting club. Still, Obama worries that many of the guns trafficked through the program end up on the streets.
"Without the importation of these rifles, the CMP is likely to become defunct and thus destroying a 110-year tradition of saving military arms and their civilian ownership," The Daily Called reported.
The president's proposal, announced Thursday, would halt the import of military surplus weapons that the United States sells or donates to allies, by private individuals or groups. According to The Associated Press, 250,000 military-grade guns have come back into the United States over the last eight years, many of them ending up on the streets.

My plan would conserve ammunition and teach the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Congressional mewling proves the need to cut out the middleman, who is a waste of time and resources.

Time people got together and create a new 'Peoples Homebuild Battle Rifle' - CAD/CAM/CNC or injection mold a basic, functional, no frills, affordable 80% receiver, that can be completed with nothing more than a drill and finished with affordable off the shelf or available surplus parts.
Those dirt cheap surplus G3 magazines would be the ideal mag to base the design off.

Another one of Obama's lies. "250,000 militart grade guns were imported back in to the US in the last 8 years, many ending up on the streets". I am sure every gang banger and dope pusher are all using M1 world War II rifles. What a bunch of Crap. This is just another step in Obama and his left-wing liberals plan to ban all guns from our society. I am sure the NRA and other groups will go to court to fight this illegal execuitve order. Ever if the courts say it illegal, that won't stop Obama, he is just keep on with this executive order,just like he has with many other illegal ones.Who is going to stop him? NO ONE.
