Shut The Government Down

Since the Jimmy Carter administration there have been 18 government shutdowns. These occurred during the Clinton, Bush, and Reagan presidencies. The fear of a government shutdown has become a political narrative that has little to do with the fear it apparently generates as this is mainly a way of politically punishing the opposing party while causing little if any damage what so ever. The GOP under Speaker of the House, John Boehner presided over a shutdown in 2013 which was caused not by Republicans, but Obama's refusal to live within the budget afforded to him by Congress and then blaming his opposition who had pledged to reduce spending.

Anatomy of a lie

Little do the sheeple, often manipulated by the Democratic Party narratives, stop to consider that the federal government basically shuts down every weekend. Nothing happens. No catastrophe occurs. No deficiency occurs. No crisis ensues. What does happen is that 80% of federal government operations essential to the security and coordination of the nation's infrastructure continues unabated. Just as in a shutdown as opposed to the weekend, all essential federal business goes on a usual with employees who have been laid off temporarily for the shutdown are placed on furlough and their salaries are then compensated for when the interruption has been remedied. In 2013 President Obama lied to the American people, fear mongering over the prospect of a shutdown while warning that undue harm could arise. Yet, once Congress had given in and passed an interim funding bill all government functions went back to normal, no lapses in services or dangers materialized.

Curtailing wastefulness

However, there was one thing that also did not happen. For those days that the government was in a shutdown Congress and the Senate were not passing useless laws, needless regulations, or new taxes that we the people simply don't need anymore of. In short, our legislators were forced to put a stop to their unnecessary control over our lives. So, I have a personal message to the people as well as the federal government. Shut it down. Use that time to quit spending us into the already dangerous levels of deficit that we already have!

Actuality

The needless fear mongering over a looming shutdown amounts to pointless drama and posturing simply to put pressure on representatives to hurry up and fund more of President Obama's reckless spending, and that is something we can do without. If the news reported this as it is in reality rather than allowing the people to be emotionally swayed but nothing more than a symbolic gesture we would be better off. Our economy would be better off. Our deficit would be more accountably managed. Instead, we are subjected to the antics of the Democratic Party agenda that constantly seeks to bend the rules, flaunt the US Constitution, and push our nation's debt further past a tipping point that can never be recovered from.

In Review

Let it never be forgotten that while John Boehner was Speaker Of The House that he ran a purge that unseated several key conservatives from important positions that served the country well. Boehner also took measures to alienate the Tea Party. Bad move for the GOP. Much like the US lame stream media, John Boehner acted more like President Obama's assistant rolling out the red carpet for each of his bad policies than leading the fight against big government, higher taxes, and defending our borders like he and any effective opposition party should have been doing. Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you!

hey now, don't get too carried away. What would the bought off media do to generate more lies for the evening news?
