Tupac was more than just your average hip-hop figure.  His Thug-Life persona may have turned many off, but, unbeknownst to most, was his plan to politicize gangs on the West coast. Tupac developed this plan with Mutulu Shakur while visiting him in prison. So, the vile, disrespectful, language and misogynistic tones you heard from Tupac were an attempt to organize gangs in LA into a new political party. Before Huey. P. Newton was assassinated in 1989, Tupac and Huey were suppose to combine the New Afrikan Panthers(Tupac's group) with the decaying Black Panther Party. Fred Hampton tried to politicize the Jeff Fort and the Black P. Stone Nation(later renamed the El-Rukuns), but, through pretense and sabotage, Cointelpro managed to annul that alliance. This ultimately lead to an FBI assassination of Hampton. The same fate would be met by Tupac. So, in the vain of his Black Panther progeny, Tupac not only died a martyr for hip-hop, but for freedom fighters worldwide.
