This does not surprise me. I have read many stories over the years of evidence of a vast Mayan civilization spanning this entire hemisphere.

absolutely, until the end of the bronze age, europeans and people from around the mediterranean mined copper there also. When the iron age began, copper mining ceased and large groups of the european miners stayed behind, inter-marrying with asiatics from the west coast ( Jomon culture etc,etal) giving rise to my people the "Native" Americans. Ancient history was found very dangerous to the "establishment" (read: church) so has been mis-represented, hidden and avoided.
