The commissioner discussed his large-scale warrant initiative with federal marshals. He said he has extended patrol shifts on Friday and Saturdays and extended shifts in special enforcement, as well as using resources from the Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Batts said they are currently assisting police with street-level enforcement.
