The interim leader of the secretive Nxivm cult who was arrested by the FBI last week and arraigned on federal charges is now looking to make a deal.
Allison Mack filed an application for an Order of Excludable Delay on Friday requesting that trial against her not commence until after May 3, stating that her legal team and attorneys for the Eastern District of New York were in plea negotiations.
She the informed the court that there is a 'reasonable likelihood' the negotiations 'will result in a disposition of this case without trial.'
This application was filed shortly after she entered a plea of not guilty to the three charges she is facing in the case.
It seems unlikely that Nxivm founder Keith Raniere will be able striking any deals with the US attorney's office, who successfully petitioned to have Raniere held without bail in a letter to the court stating that the cult leader had sexual relationships with two minor females, aged 15 and 12, in the past.
