thank you for posting these videos. a lot more information on the background is necessary. the Greek national railroad's annual income is about 100 million Euros while expenditures on salary/benefits and other costs is 700 million Euros. Government employees earn far more than private sector and more than is provided by tax revenues, which are a joke as the whole nation practises tax avoidance (and why not? It takes 10-15 years to bring a case, so this is almost never done. But if a case is considered, the tax official may simply be bribed, and always is because it takes 7 to 10 years to indict him!). Massive off-the-books debts in the hundrds of billions of Euros, early retirement, etc. Someone has suggested that the EU's gnomes in Basel be driven into the Black Forest with their laptops and do what they do best, using ledger entries to simply buy up all the bad Greek debt and convert it into reserves. Of course, the EU has resorted to austerity measures imposed upon Greece, which theoretically might have been bearable on a graduated basis, but all at once and accompanied by the massive sell-off of Greece's sovereign institutions and islands?
