cool Greg, but once again, you've missed the point completely. It's not just about intoxication, it's the principle behind check points in general. Last country/countries I ever recall of even having a checkpoint system was Nazi Germany, Stalin's Russia, Red China, and Banana Republic Dictatorship controlled South America. I mean, hey, if you're cool with check points, there are other options of places for you live.

Congrats, Greg! I don't drink much but when I do, I don't want to be hasseled. I would not drink and drive but they are looking for more than just drunk drivers at the checkpoints. They are humiliating and they treat you like your'e a criminal and ask a lot of stupid questions.

San Diego is the worst, I just hesitate to drive down there anymore. Also I find the sheriffs worse than LAPD. In my town you can't even smoke on a public street.

hahah yeah. It's like this, if you are walking home from a bar or a friends house and you're just absolutely trashed but you don't have an open container or any container of any substance on you, you're free to go. I know pretty crazy, but apparently that's how New Mexico rolls.

I can be intoxicated as long as I'm not consuming? Life in the US has become too complicated, too many rules.

Yeah it's pretty insane. In I believe 2004 or 2007 California passed a law that at DUI check points, if you test positive for over the limit alcohol % behind the wheel, that your vehicle would be immediately taken from you and impounded. Even if you had a sober person in the car with a drivers license who could drive your car for you. Sort of like the new law Nevada had recently passed where if you have an under aged person in the car with you who is under the influence of booze you the driver are charged with the fine, not the passenger. They really truly are just trying to find and conduct any means possible to suck all the money we have out of us. Maybe New Mexico would be a nice place to stay for a while, apparently you can be as intoxicated as possible in public, just as long as you're not consuming any alcohol or any other intoxicating substances while in public.

Thanks, their site will be very useful. I've been through many of the checkpoints in SoCal.
