House budget punishes IRS with 15% cut, halts Obamacare enforcement

The Internal Revenue Service is about to get slapped with a harsh payback for messing around with conservative groups, blowing wads of tax dollars on employee conferences and helping implement Obamacare.

The House Appropriations Committee is set to OK an IRS budget of $10.9 billion, $1.5 billion under President Obama's request for fiscal year 2015, reducing the agency's budget to 2008 levels.

The goal is to keep the tax agency focused on its “core duties,” and eliminate efforts to judge the political activities of tax-exempt groups and brake its implementation of Obamacare.

The funding is part of a larger $21 billion bill for several agencies including the IRS, Treasury Department and Securities and Exchange Commission. Noting that it cuts $2.3 billion from the president's overall request, Chairman Hal Rogers said, “the bill focuses cuts on lower-priority or poor-performing agencies, such as the scandal-plagued and inefficient Internal Revenue Service.”

IRS tells GOP committee: We’ve lost e-mails from six more employees...

And all of them, apparently, were lost in computer crashes. That’s novel. Normally, when an agency doesn’t want to comply with a document request, it simply lies by claiming that no such document exists.

I’ll spare you a click and Voxsplain this one right here: Clearly the answer is to increase the IRS’s budget, so that they can afford more reliable PCs.

Seriously, though, who’s getting fired?

they are merely lying thru their evil ass', there are redundant email servers within the IRS as well as in other various locations thru out DC....then never fear, the NSA is here, ask them for copies of Lerner's evidence of Obama's and Holder's complicity thru all this lawlessness and treason.

these bastards have raised the bar on Political Criminality

You are correct. Also there is a standard requirement to make a paper copy of every business related Email  and to file it in the associated folder. Then there are the off site back ups. Then finally there is the NSA who copies everybody's everything.

Just ask the NSA they already have it to be used to black mail honest politicians.

I wish they would just get rid of this illegal institution already.

If We get rid of the need for money...  [grin]

We will solve for taxes completely.

They had to work very hard to get rid of those emails, for the Greater Good of course.  Those poor servants of the ignorant, ungrateful masses.  It must have cost a load of tax dollars to do this important deletion work.  And now their budget is cut?  They will strive to punish others for this.

Any money to a criminal organization is too much money and that includes the US Government.

Oh! And NSA, kiss my ass.

One has to wonder just how real these cuts are.  Is this a "feel good" publicity stunt?

It more than likely is a feel good cut considering there are major congressional seats up for the taking. IMO, the GOP is trying to position themselves favorably because of this IRS scandal.

With that being said, it's still a step in the right direction and is bringing the focus back to how corrupt and criminal our Government has become.
