BILLINGS- As debate over climate change legislation heats up on Capitol Hill, the Director of the University of Montana’s Climate Change Studies Program, and a co-author of a Nobel Prize winning report, says cap and trade legislation could ruin the US economy.
During a Wednesday morning interview with statewide radio talk show host Aaron Flint on “Voices of Montana,” Dr. Steve Running said any climate change solution needs to involve all nations.
Ben Bernanke and his Federal Reserve bankster cronies must be shaking in their overpriced shoes.
Despite an unprecedented PR blitz...

How did they know? They're not part of Merdoch's Media Empire are they?
The Bush Administration aims to recruit millions of United States citizens as domestic informants in a program likely to alarm civil liberties groups.
The Terrorism Information and Prevention System, or TIPS, means the US will have a higher percentage of citizen informants than the former East Germany through the infamous Stasi secret police. The program would use a minimum of 4 per cent of Americans to… Continue
The Pentagon seems to have decided that anthropology is to the war on terror what physics was to the Cold War. As an anthropologist, this makes me very nervous.
Where former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld believed that the United States would vanquish its enemies through technological superiority, his replacement Robert Gates has said that cultural expertise in counterinsurgency operations will be crucial in the future wars he anticipates.
AMSTERDAM -- The Dutch central bank shuttered DSB Bank NV, a struggling consumer and mortgage lender, after a run by depositors that followed a call from a consumer group to pull money out of the controversial institution.
The government said it would begin an investigation into what happened at the bank, a privately owned institution with reported assets of some €8 billion ($11.77 billion).

Take a quick look at her pedigree, and you wouldn’t think de Rothschild, wife of Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, could be this hard-nosed. She is rich, charming and beautiful. Portfolio has called her the “the flashiest hostess in London.”
But look closer and you’ll find an iron will. Some Londoners call her “Lady Lynn de Pushy.”
She has long been a power player, counting the Clintons and Tony Blair as good friends. Former husband Andrew…
Starting with this little diamond I'd like to invite you all to help bring these ruthless monsters to justice.

Dear Lord Rothschild,
I have much pleasure in conveying to you on behalf of His Majesty's Government the following declaration of sympathy with Jewish Zionist aspirations, which has been submitted to and approved by the Cabinet:
"His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in…
Someone broke into his house. What they are saying is he somehow got the gun away from the robber. The robber is face down on the floor, the owner has the gun. The situation is under control. The family calls 911. As police show up the wife tells them multiple times her husband has the gun don't shoot. Well, they go in and immediately start shooting without assessing the situation and not giving a warning. The husband is still talking to 911 screaming that they shot the homeowner while they… Continue

France's Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand is facing intense pressure over a book he wrote that described paying for "young boys" in Thailand.
Frederic Mitterrand has rejected criticism from the far right
The book was written four years ago, before he joined the government, but is back in the headlines following his impassioned support for Roman Polanski.
Polanski has been arrested in Switzerland on child sex charges.
Cop beats kid for an untucked shirt. Then instead of protecting the kid the teachers protect the cop. I guess the handicapped teenager was too menacing. Probably more intelligent than the cop also. There had better be a lawsuit. Watch the video.

Nobody knows where all the money went for the tickets. The city is broke but has 7 officers for a town of under 200. The judge voided all the tickets made after a fire chief was shot by a police officer in the courtroom. Goes to show us we have to rely on ourselves before we rely on the system.

Taser International unveiled its first new stun gun since 2003 Monday, a device that can shock three people without reloading.
Older Taser models, in use by 14,200 law enforcement agencies throughout the country, have to be reloaded after one shot, which can be a problem for an officer who has missed a target or has more than one suspect to subdue.
I knew this would happen. Will the officers be brought up on charges or just fired or perhaps just given a desk job? Hmm wonder if it's happening in the US?

A London police officer is questioned on suspicion of manslaughter after it was found that a British man died of bleeding and not a heart attack.
The incident took place during London's G20 summit protests in April.
