In a city of desperate poverty -- without jobs, without electricity, without security, without drinkable water, without medical facilities, with little food and less hope -- several hundred well-armed soldiers in armored vehicles laid siege, blocking escape routes, and opened fire. Indiscriminate bullets found the bodies of men, women, children, infants and the elderly.
This was not Fallujah. It was not Ramadi, Baghdad or some obscure community in the Anbar province of Iraq. It was…

Criminals Among Us
The two people MOST responsible for HAITIAN MISERY just started a non-profit to accept donations for the people of Haiti.
Clinton Bush Haiti Fund
This has to be the most despicable act by Bush and Clinton in the 21st Century.
The political mandates and legislation pushed forward by these two miscreants resulted directly in the impoverishment and misery of the Haitian…

This isn't about Gaza but I want to start there. It's about all of us.
The people of Gaza are vulnerable to disease, ill-health, and malnutrition after years of siege, with its infrastructure rotted, its water and food contaminated by heavy metals from aerial bombardment, it's agricultural land which once supported a thriving export market decimated by tank treads and border no-man's lands.
The normal growth of children is stunted by years of malnutrition. Adults are…

Walls were prevalent in pre-industrial society but express much about our 21st century advanced, supposedly, civilization.
Egypt is building a thick 60 to 90 foot deep steel wall along 14 miles of its Gaza border. Israel is doing the same. They already have 30 foot high cement walls surrounding most of Gaza.
Walls in early civilizations were built for protection against marauding bands of criminals and functional opposing armies. Walls today are built to keep people in.…

Sourced from the Washington Post
The U.S. government is encouraging farmers to spread a chalky waste from coal-fired power plants on their fields to loosen and fertilize soil.
The material is produced by power plant "scrubbers" that remove acid-rain-causing sulfur dioxide from plant emissions. The substance is a synthetic form of the mineral gypsum, and it also contains mercury, arsenic, lead and other heavy metals.
The Environmental Protection Agency says those…

WE THE UNDERSIGNED petition you to speak out against the death penalty for Mumia Abu-Jamal, and all the men, women and children facing execution around the world. This ultimate form of punishment is unacceptable in a civilized society and undermines human dignity. (U.N. General Assembly, Moratorium on the Use of the Death Penalty, Resolution 62/149, Dec. 18,…

Haiti and America’s Historic Debt
Announcing emergency help for Haiti after a devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake, President Barack Obama noted America’s historic ties to the impoverished Caribbean nation, but few Americans understand how important Haiti’s contribution to U.S. history was.
In modern times, when Haiti does intrude on U.S. consciousness, it’s usually because of some natural disaster or a violent political upheaval, and the U.S. response is often…

You should find these two very short videos fascinating.
Before you go on I want to say that there are opinions here, supported by these videos that some of you may find disturbing or worse. They call into question our own perceptions. If you can handle your perceptions being questioned and if the truth slapping you in the face doesn't bother you, read on and watch the two videos. If you prefer to remain in a fantasy world then you might want to move on.
The narrator…

A Festival of Corporate Greed
by Roger Annis
When Vancouver first submitted a bid for the Winter Olympics, the budget for “security” was said to be $175-million. The final cost will exceed $1-billion. An army of Canadian military, federal police agencies and municipal police, about 10,000 altogether, will police the city, complemented by some 5,000 security guards.
A vast network of surveillance cameras of public spaces has been installed, and barbed wire fences…

I'm writing this on my blackberry as I am driving to Haiti from the Dominican Republic.
Again, nature has destroyed Haiti’s chances of getting back on its feet - or at least, that is what we are being told.
The truth is that natural disasters in Haiti always prove to be more devastating than in the neighboring Dominican Republic or in Cuba. Lack of infrastructure, deforestation and severe poverty are some of the reasons why.
After former…

Most of the relevant news never makes it into the mainstream media. I've seen several articles today titled, "Why Haiti Has Problems" or something similar and none of them have addresses US corporate control of the country.
Likewise, nowhere do we see what's actually happening in Yemen. I can't say whether the Houthi's are right or wrong for fighting the Yemeni government. I do know that Yemen is a Presidential Republic with elections but I would guess that the Houthi claims of…

Reuters reports a spokesperson from the Islamist Al-Shabaab group in Somalia claiming that the US mercenary group Blackwater/Xe Services is in Somalia, is recruiting and is planning a series of spectacular terrorist attacks against civilians to discredit his movement in Mogadishu.
The spokesperson is Sheikh Ali Mohammed Rage of the Al-Shabaab group (The Youth), an Islamist faction fighting government forces in southern and central Somalia. In an interview with Reuters, he claimed…

There are Lucifer worshiping pedophiles within the global elite! Hide your kids! These cabals of devil worshipers go back hundreds, maybe thousands of years!
There are even those that believe that the Rothschilds are at the top of the food chain, controlling everything below. Demons waiting to feast on us, the mere mortals.
Well, believe what you will but the Lucifer worshiping pedophiles are what fantasy is made of and while the Rothschilds may control vast wealth that's…

When flying over the island that Haiti shares almost 50/50 with the Dominican Republic one notices something strange.
The Dominican Republic is an expanse of green, rolling hills forested with trees and shrubbery. Then Haiti comes into view, a grey/brown expanse of dirt dotted with buildings where the cities lie. The forests are gone. As a result of US government intervention we've despoiled the land and imprisoned the people.
If any of you were paying attention, last year…

The British government apologized to its citizens today for approving the use of Thalidomide for 4 years between 1958 and 1961. British subjects effected by the use of Thalidomide, missing arms and legs, receive approximately $30,000 yearly from the government.
Many of you here on 12.160Mhz weren't born yet and aren't familiar with the Thalidomide scandal of the early 60s. It was developed as an alternative to barbiturates, a drug used for many, many years found to be completely safe…

In the hours following Haiti's devastating earthquake, CNN, the New York Times and other major news sources adopted a common interpretation for the severe destruction: the 7.0 earthquake was so devastating because it struck an urban area that was extremely over-populated and extremely poor. Houses "built on top of each other" and constructed by the poor people themselves made for a fragile city. And the country's many years of underdevelopment and political turmoil…

Don't be fooled, the US is directly responsible for the calamity that befalls the Haitians.
Even in its hour of utter devastation, Haiti, the western hemisphere's poorest country, teaches the rest of the world some valuable truths.
This Caribbean island nation of nine million people has right now a third of its population cut off from basic supplies of food, water, medicine or shelter. In the blink of an eye, the earthquake that hit the country has buried a capital city of…

SHELBURNE, Vt. – Peter Garritano thinks it's time for Vermont to call it quits with America.
The way the 54-year-old automobile salesman sees it, the "empire" is about to implode and tiny Vermont can lead the way by becoming its own independent republic. So he's running for lieutenant governor, topping a slate of secession-minded candidates seeking statewide offices this year.
Their name: Vermont Independence Day.
"The only hope is to just say, 'Look, this isn't…
