I don't believe in true love
It's human nature that I'm thinking of
It all dissolves when push comes to shove
Infatuation lost like losing a pair of gloves,

She's gone now but I see her everywhere,
Love always conquers all
I've heard all this falter all
It all comes down to shopping at the mall
And when they leave you just stand tall,
I used to think I knew as a young man
I was a hopeful soul in desolate lands
I was entirely ready to play my hand
But a woman's heart is just shifting sand,
God forgive me for my indiscretion
That I never seemed to learn my lesson
Time for another self examination session
Beware when it seems you're her obsession,
It all begins oh so nice
Your delusion of paradise
Then the world comes in cold as ice
Cuts up your heart with each little slice,
You told me to stop living in the past
Because to you love would never last
Don't even know why my expression was aghast
My ship's set sail it's at full mast,

Doc - Thanks. I think as to relationships, we build up emotional baggage, and people grow to "see the game" of the opposite sex (for women, hypergamy, etc.). Makes it harder to throw oneself into it as an 18 year-old would (when you're 40 and older).
