The problem with the tea party is they said TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY ! Maybe they should have said~ 

 "STOP PAYING AN ILLEGAL INCOME TAX!"  "EXEMPT! EXEMPT!" There is no law for ordinary people who give a service to another and are paid for it! There ignorance is laughable and they didn't use there power to help

Ron Paul they allowed his nomination to be stolen by the more "Presidential looking guy" Hows that working for them now! They put $$$$$$ before FREEDOM!!! They had the numbers people wise~ and the press gave them viewership they 'BLEW IT!' AND!! they sold out to the "part line" when some of them got to go to Washington they allowed the debt ceiling to rise ~ Wow! I am only a few years into discovery of what the hell is going on! I don't have a THINK TANK helping me and it didn't take long to find out we have been lied to, duped, and lured into an unconstitutional coup detat' shadow government using us as fodder for war and robbing us blind and do it through the illegal unconstitutional income tax and it continues with the unconstitutional Obama care with the consent of the people ~ we need to STOP GIVING OUR CONSENT  & point out the illegal stomping on our right to live free in peace, travel freely and own our own property without interference from a 10 mile square government.. The over reaching arm of tyranny is at a tipping point and everybody knows it ~ we are running out of time i don't know if we can get enough people to stop watching tv long enough to watch things like this video that is not exciting unless you have an insatiable desire for truth and freedom http://12160.info/video/theft-by-deception-deciphering-the-federal-...

i do have to learn more about nullification the little i have heard sound like an intelligent answer i do have a documentary on it i have been meaning to watch ~ thanks for reminding me to do so ;)

i just want to add to my comment that when i say illegal i don't mean for everybody i believe that particular tax was always meant for corporations doing business inside and outside the united states and foreigners doing business inside the united states the supreme court said there were no new taxes laid after the 16th amendment ~ the reason they didn't have to apportion it was because it was never meant for you and me ~ it was meant for the newly forming CORPORATIONS 

"from whatever source derived" never meant they could tax whatever they want whenever they want to if that were the case they could tax anything they didn't like OUT OF EXISTENCE!! when i think about this i think to myself WHO ARE THEY ONES NOT PAYING THE INCOME TAX!?  AND THAT WOULD BE THE VERY PEOPLE IT WAS MEANT FOR!

well that's how i see it! now all i have to do is get everyone else to see it  ;)

This was also historically pushed through during the christmas holiday while most people were not paying attention and most of congress was home for the holidays ~ they seem to love to do that!!

The Sixteenth Amendment (Amendment XVI) to the United States Constitution allows the Congress to levy an income tax without apportioning it among the states or basing it on Census results. This amendment exempted income taxes from the constitutional requirements regarding direct taxes, after income taxes on rents, dividends, and interest were ruled to be direct taxes in Pollock v. Farmers' Loan & Trust Co. (1895). It was ratified on February 3, 1913.
