Without doubt it's an odd place, - Apeman seems to have some it up nicely, - I have over 500 "friends", who I haven't the slighest idea who 99% of them are!! As Paricia say below, it's a good market place to gather the sheeple if you're trying to flog something, even an idea...it's permits you to address millions of sheep.  Bah - humbug!  Facebook-Youtube are without doubt the biggest CIA information gathering tools ever set up to date!  I remember in the 1980's, people were selling data-lists of names of people who wanted to 'find a partner', - 500 names would sell for around £800!  Now they'd want at least 5,000,000 names for the same price!!

For some FB will make miserable, but I think that varies from person to person and how it is used or enjoyed. If it makes someone miserable than they should quit. I bet Mike Adams is on it. :)

it can be helpful if you have a small business...contacts, getting the word out etc...
