I just had a conversation with my father about Trump. My point being that the whole phenomena may have been just theater, yet another Machiavellian invention to rope us into doing what (((international finance))) wants. For some reason I'm still, inexplicably, surprised when people can't discuss politics rationally. He flew into a rage, dropping several f-bombs, and claiming I was trying to induce in him a heart attack. His point being, I suppose, that we should offer a political leader unquestioning loyalty (because that's always a good plan, right?). Despite my just quitting a two pack a day habit two days ago, cold turkey, I did not respond in kind, although my nerves are severely jangled now, yes. And this seems to be a common opinion and reaction among Trump supporters. Talk about snowflakes.

Long, deep, frustrated sigh [center myself, think happy thoughts, go to my happy place, breathe deeply and slowly]......... I think back to when I was a child, and/or my grandparents or uncles and aunts would visit. The men and women would separate, men taking the kitchen where they would drink coffee and smoke until there was a layer of bluish vapor hanging about 4 feet off the floor, and stretching from wall to wall. While they talked about their jobs (all had done labor, some skilled labor, in unionized factories), car repair, and politics. I listened with rapt attention, as I wished very much to get to adulthood early. When I was 10 or 11, my grandfather made me a gift of the book None Dare Call It Treason by John Stormer. On the first printed page are the words "Many Republicans will not like this book, because it is not a partisan diatribe." I remembered that concept, and took it to heart. The book is equally critical of Republicans and Democrats. Stormer was, however, a Republican.

I also recall my father saying he had attended a union meeting, and the man who spoke there said not to trust someone just because they were in your chosen political party. I took that to heart as well.

A fundamental, hard-wired psychological feature of human beings is that when you are presented with two people or groups fighting, (either witnessed in real life or on television, etc) they will choose a side to cheer for. This is pretty much compulsory.  The below video is an episode of the animated series, Aeon Flux (a little over 5 minutes). It was shown on MTV's Liquid Television, decades ago, in installments. As you watch it, pay attention to what your mind involuntarily does.

After the third and fourth group enters the fray, you may become a little confused. The premise of the video is no small example of genius. At first, you're likely rooting for the heroine. Then either for the uber-Aryan soldier or the invading dark-haired army. I believe most would tend to favor the solitary blonde at that point, because he is winning. That's a relevant concept in and of itself. He is also far outgunned, therefore the underdog. Whether right or wrong, people tend to favor the victor at the end of a battle, or the underdog at the beginning of one. Then after that battle is done, maybe you root for the redhead who is rescuing her lover from a dungeon. The mind rebels in horror at a situation that doesn't fall into the dichotomy model. Now think about Trump as the underdog, and the victor.

A generalization of this principle is that humans tend to divide things sharply into two groups - good and evil, black and white. Thus, most people are turned off completely when I favor the sane, sincere right reaching out to the sane, sincere faction of the left to work together to construct a new political philosophy. And, keep in mind, I am a lifelong neo-Nazi (since age 12). I'm supposed to be the epitome of an unthinking two-dimensional brute whose only motivating factor is murderous hatred. Coming to terms with adversaries through reasoned discussion and negotiation just isn't in my nature. LOL.

Since I questioned Trump, Dad then said I must be on the side of the Democratic Party leadership, which I most certainly am not. He also brought up the idea of what the alternative is / was. These are also common Trump supporter positions and fallbacks. We forget that choosing what we perceive as the lesser of two evils, over decades or hundreds of years, has got us right where we are now. In several dire, imminently life-threatening predicaments. The bill eventually comes due for all these lesser evils that accumulate, as it is coming due now.

Reasons to question Trump are many. I've listed them in detail elsewhere, from his appointment of neocons (like Nikki Haley as Ambassador to the UN) and Goldman-Sachs bankers, to attacking Syria militarily, and the assassination of Soleimani (the most feared enemy of ISIS). One key example is his appointment of Gina Haspel to run the CIA. As I understand it, one thing she did was to instruct her people to abduct the small children of interrogation subjects. Then they were placed in coffin-sized boxes in the presence of their father. Venomous spiders and other insects were added to the box, and their parent had to listen  to them scream and scream and scream.  Then she destroyed the evidence. Is this what the stars and bars represent, the torture of small children, and coverups of atrocities? Does no one believe in the idea of you "reap what you sow"? Jesus(!), indeed. Not to mention his friendship with the Clintons before the election. And USMCA ("NAFTA on steoids"), etc etc etc. In any case, a man who would appoint her, is that what we voted for?

It's far past time to abandon the tactic of choosing the lesser of two evils, and to demand an end to evil. Or else. You can't expect something if you didn't even ask for it. Giving a political leader unconditional support is a very good way to end up getting us all  f***ed , hard. People aren't perfect, but they should always strive to be better, not count on an adoring public letting them slide on morals and ethics. If I was a political leader, I wouldn't have a problem with my personal life and job decisions being examined and attacked. I would, in fact, demand transparency as to my and others' personal lives. As well as encouraging people to question me. By turning Trump into a cult of personality, there's also the problem of putting all one's eggs in the same basket. What would the conservatives do if he suffered a fatal heart attack, by the way? Because of the citizenry's irresponsibility, it's as though we're a cancer patient that will already have to lose a foot. Want to keep going as we are, and have them take your leg as well? Or both legs? Or maybe we die as it metastasizes. Great, way to go.

Those who view this site regularly know that I post Jimmy Dore videos. Dore is a progressive leftist, and I view many of his positions not only as wrong, but as stupid, and even evil. However, the important part, for me is that he spends most of his time attacking the Democratic Party leadership for their dishonesties, total submission to the banks and the military industrial complex in exchange for donations, the Russiagate hoax and the like. He also credits Trump and Tucker Carlson when they say and do something right. The same way Carlson agrees with Tulsi Gabbard about war. That is all I would like to see out of Trump supporters. Quit pretending that he is some kind of saint, look at what he promised as opposed to what he is actually doing, and not doing. Quit thinking that if they have an R next to their name, they're going to take care of us. Or you will find yourself much more than disappointed, very soon. Talk is cheap (as are tweets). Works, not words. One can only serve one master.

Matthew 7:15-20

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them."

Burbia - Maybe Trump threatened to spray their tortilla corn fields with agent orange. I certainly won't hold my breath on imprisoning Hillary. Maybe they'll make Public Service Announcements after he's out of office, like the Clintons and the Bushes.

It's weird that Mexico is stopping the caravan heading to the US before they even get near the US border. If he can just put Pant Suit in Gitmo.

Burbia - Of course. My point is that if we ignore when Trump goes back on a campaign promise, he will tend to take the easier path, which is to acquiesce. Which, I think, is what he's done. He may have been false from the get go, or he may have been turned, but what he is definitely not is a savior. His supporters act like he is, though. Like Reverse-TDS.

I was wondering where to place this video all day. MSM has stayed away from this story. Fox News and local Florida news covered it.
