Well, aside from the perpetual free energy machine, no.

There are enough scientists and inventors that weapons manufacturers aren't using everyone. We've have people working on all sorts of things from genetics to drugs and from computers to information technology. There are the physicists that are working at CERN, the scientists at NASA, the engineers working on alternative energy sources and thousands of scientists doing things other then making weapons.

I doubt very much anything is being suppressed. If there were an alternative to petroleum it would be known, it would make trillions and it wouldn't be suppressed. I've heard too much speculation about suppressed technology and I've never seen a shred of evidence to prove it.

So, no technologies that could help the average person are being suppressed and we have access to all available profitable technology.

And having top scientists and inventors working on weapons and such are not keeping good stuff from being developed by these same scientists and inventors?

Doubt it seriously.

If profit weren't the top priority we might not even have computers. We might not even have TVs and telephones.

illuminated-dj, I agree with you.

If there were a way to return plastics to a usable petroleum product we'd do it because there would be something involved called profit. We do whatever produces profit.

there would be no need for all this plastic and unecessary pakaging if we had local farms etc.. providing for the local people.i am disgusted at the amount of pakaging on some products just to make it look good so it sells.human beings need to seriously check themselves-Meet your meat

Greg, I think you are refering to the little faggot owl "Woodsy" who starred in the failed government propaganda commercials along with "Smokey Bear" who by the way is a National Icon of true natural resource conservation, a bad ass wildland firefighter with a shovel and a Jeep. LOL

There are no known proven ways today because we spend all our technology money on figuring out new ways to brainwash and kill people. It's all about priorities.

Not polluting, conservation and recycling aren't the issues, for me.

Recycling is a proven scam. It does not reduce the manufacture of additional plastic or aluminum products and it provides free labor to an industry that profits off of the individual consumers labor for free. There is also the fact that in most cases it's cheaper in terms of total energy and resources used to just throw away a can or plastic bottle and make a new one then it is to recycle it.

Humanity has proven that we are incapable of using plastic products appropriately and they are contaminating and polluting the environment and the Bisphenol-A used to make plastic rigid is leaching into humans via food containers, the lining of cans, register receipts and even newspaper ink. Plastic should be banned along with a great many other environmental man made toxins.

There is NO CURRENT technology known to convert plastic back to its original petroleum base so that isn't an option.

Give a hoot don't pollute doesn't account for the many, many 100s of tons of plastic products manufactured every day. If you think pollution is bad, check the pollution in third world countries. It's 1,000 times worse, we just don't see it from the USA.

The Pacific and Atlantic gyres are a fine example of mankind's ability to control plastic in the environment.

Recycle it an turn it back into oil, decking, tires and whatever else we need. We should be strip mining the land fills and using modern technology to reuse these precious resources instead of trying to get to Mars, or launching more spy satellites. We are already in the middle of the universe there is no where else to go. At least not till we deal with the problems here.
