Ask  any  question  you  want  -  they  still  get  through.  That's  why  I  LIMIT  personal  Information!!!

Work,  live,  My  1st  borns  name  (and  second)!!!  I  have  had  to  change  my  password  3  times  to  date,  on  Facebook...   What  do  these  people  hope  to  achieve  anyway???   That  they're  smart  or  very  stupid??

 I will consider your manners suggestion Lauren.

To be clear, once again, it says donating TIME as well each week. Right?

Otherwise to be read as "on going".

Not sure how you would suggest adding that in with manners in mind though  I am all ears.

 I guess I may have missed your site cash donation Lauren. I can tell you that I very rarely thank people for the site donations . Its really a time issue for me.  I like to assume people understand we are grateful with out a written statement acknowledging this and that they understand there is more pressing matters.

Here we have something a volunteer of Time to the site could do.  If I give you a list of donors, maybe you can contact and thank them on behalf the site and its members? I really only have so much time in one day, like most of you all, and my time available on site is now much shorter now considering my current situation.

Hope that clears things up. Again, thanks for the feedback. I am no expert and willing to hear all of you out.

it wasnt the fact that you were askin for donations its just when it said "each week".ive prob just read it wrong.ive no problem donating when i can.i know its not often.sorry,ive just took the wrong end of the stick.keep it real.

If we fail to ask for donations and to monetize the site through advertising it will mean no more site. The more money we have the more we can offer our members in the way of services and quality content. Just a fact of life.

 

Many popular alternative news sites ask their membership to contribute $25,000 or more per quarter to keep their doors open. As a purely volunteer site we ask our membership for a tiny fraction of that,  often offering much more in return.

 

As we generate revenue from ads on the new site we may indeed start paying writers for original content but this will likely take the form of a weekly or monthly contest for best original material to encourage member contributions. I seriously doubt anybody will ever make what you could call a salary off of this site despite the enormous amount of time and energy we put into it. Whatever money is raised our membership will be the primary beneficiary that reaps the rewards.

DJ....nobody is getting paid on the site. All donations are paying for us to stay on ning-a-ling and for our eventual departure from ning and onto our new site. Once we have 12160.info up and running that will cost us money to keep it going too.

As James stated, it's asking for time or cash.....it is your choice. DJ....you've given a lot of time so what is your worries friend? All is good! Even if you say no on both counts to the question, that is your choice too. It was a question that was geared to spammers to begin with.
