Prince Charles claims Vlad the Impaler as ancestor

The truth is out: Prince Charles is related to Vlad the Impaler.

The heir to the British throne says he is related to Vlad the Impaler, the cruel 15th-Century Romanian warlord who helped inspire Bram Stoker's 1897 vampire novel "Dracula."

He makes the comments on an upcoming TV show to promote his interest in protecting the forests of Romania's Transylvania region.

Charles says genealogy shows that he is related to Vlad, giving him a stake in the future of Romania. The prince has long worked to conserve the forests and has bought a home in the region.

The resemblance is striking.  I wonder if I can find this on Genealogy.com! So he bought a home in Romania - well then, he and his wife Cruella should move there and forget about being king someday.  Maybe he will get lost in the forest he's trying to preserve and William will be king - the last king of England.

Seems like an appropriate place for him. Big surprise he is related to one of the wickedest rulers of history. Would be intereting to see what you find on genealogy.com.

When you start snooping around the past you find some interesting family secrets, so one should be prepared for the unexpected.

Romanian and Slavic documents starting with 1481 and on portray Vlad as a hero, a true leader, that used harsh yet fair methods to reclaim the country from the corrupt and rich boyars. Moreover, all his military efforts were directed against the Ottoman Empire which explicitly wanted to conquer Wallachia ...

I wonder if a hero like him would be necessary to ban banksters and corrupt politicians from the land ...

Not really Maria. Vlad was exceptionally ruthless and wicked to his own people. He was a pure manifestation of  evil. Textbook psychopath.
